the lou market and trade offers that were reported on Monday the dubs tried to fleece Utah the Jazz threw a laugher back in Golden State’s face could these two actually meet in the middle and get something done and and should they get something done we’re talking about both party sides there plus a look at the play of the Warriors summer league team little Dynasty going on as they are just dominating right now and their two best players will not be suiting up for the summer league anymore they are now summer league graduates so um could any of the other members that are on the floor shine and find themselves on a two-way contract we’re breaking that all down but let’s start with the Sham chirania report the Utah Jazz’s asking price is a nonstarter for the dubs and I wonder why reported on Monday the Warriors first of all are the most engaged team in his courting they want Lowry marinin more than anyone as of right now now on August 6th when marinan becomes extension eligible were the Jazz to resign him it could be a completely different story but as of right now it’s the Warriors and seemingly everyone else dub said you can have Moses Moody we’ll give you many future draft picks I think it was three first round draft picks couple of pick swaps as well as some second round draft picks the Jazz said you know that’s a decent start but we want more we want the picks we want Moody we we want Jonathan kaminga and we want Brandon bimy that’s a stretch this is just life in the NBA trade market nowadays if you want a potential perennial Allstar that’s seven feet tall that average 23 points per game and eight rebounds the prior season shooting 40% from Deep just a tantalizing uh package to add to your Arsenal you’re G to have to give away a lot look at male Bridges New York sent buan bogdanovich and five five first round picks to Brooklyn in exchange for male Bridges Warriors they don’t have the picks that the Knicks have they don’t have that Arsenal so their Capital would have to come in the forms of young players that have already shown really plenty of glimpses of already being solid NBA players the least heralded of the three that the Utah Jazz want Moses Moody played significant minutes in the Western Conference finals against Dallas as a rookie and has been buried behind a Hall of Famer so Golden State said we’ll give you Moses Moody we’ll give you all that draft Capital why not send him over he’s GNA be a free agent next year anyways look at it as a rental in return for Moses Moody and all these picks that you add to the Arsenal because you’re not going to resign them anyways the Jazz say yes we are going to resign Lowry marinan when he becomes extension El eligible on August 6th and because of that we hold all the leverage here so here’s who we want return we want everyone it seems like all the Warriors youngsters now was the Warriors offer Fair Moody and the picks no was the Jazz’s offer to Golden State an offer that the Warriors should entertain hell no it was it was disrespectful to be quite Frank with you Lowry marinan really good player he’s not 26 year old LeBron James at the end of the day that is a Kings Ransom that the Jazz want in return for low Marinet a player that played 55 games last season and has played in the 50s in four of his Seven Seasons not always healthy however when he is he has a very good chip to add to a team that is looking to win a chip here’s the biggest issue that I have with this tradeoffer and I I have a lot of issues but the biggest one how much better does it make you right now if that proposed trade by the Jazz were to actually be accepted by the Golden State Warriors I mean forget hemorrhaging the future which you’re clearly doing if you’re giving away all your draft Capital especially if the Warriors happen to go through a rebuild they fall off a little bit then you’re looking at your 26 28 30 picks pick swap in there the Warriors are winning 20 25 games if that’s possible then the Jazz have lottery picks every single season and the Warriors have no way to really get the ship back on the Harbor it’d be tough the Seas would be Rocky to say the least but forget just hemorrhaging the future when we talk about getting better right now if you’re trading away two potential starters and Jonathan kaminga who could potentially start at the three and then Brandon bimy who I think is probably more of a point guard but all signs point to him being slotted in at the starting shooting guard right now if you’re trading away those two players forget depth just in terms of productivity right now two for one I never love that you know even if the one is better than the two I still never love that when the two players are trading away have already shown that they are very capable young players b jimsky First Team all rookie in his first season Jonathan kaminga averaged 16 points per game last season now can he play the three that’s a big question it’s clear that Golden State wants Lowry Markin it they’re still in talks with them they’ve already made that significant trade offer with with Moses moody in there they’ve shut down 1,00% that they will give away Moody the draft capital B jimsky and Jonathan kaminga but they haven’t shut down maybe one of the two or two of the three rather or taking away some of the draft capital and throwing two of them in there I mean I there are ways that the Warriors can come back and respond to this offer that the Jazz have given them and potentially at least get Danny a scratching his head thinking about what they have this upcoming season does signing Lowry marke in for them make sense long term with all these picks that they got from the Minnesota wolves does he make sense for their timeline or is there a player that the Warriors could throw into the mix along with Moses Moody that would make sense for them and potentially move the needle and it sounds like according to Sham shiria that player could be Brandon pimpy what I have picked up is the Warriors and Jazz they have continued conversations just the Jazz are in a position right now and they wouldn’t be even thinking about moving L Larry marinin if this was a team that is trying like Ryan knows if you’re trying to compete and win that’s a guy you compete and win with this is a team that obviously is going down more of a rebuilding path and is if you’re going to rebuild and you’re trying to compete for not a playoff bir but probably the number one overall pick you have to consider I don’t think they want to move Larry marketing but if the Golden State Warriors put into Brandon psky and you know from what I’m told three first round picks three four unprotected pick swaps you know three four second round pick the name kaminga is the name but I think I think the ja from everything I’ve told the Jazz are more focused on brand and psky and his inclusion in the deal all the picks being in the deal and I think from the Warriors perspective it’s psky but then there’s not the all all the picks and if it’s all the picks then there’s not going to be a psky and so this could be a back and forth but both sides are kind of entrenched right now at where they’re at saying nothing is going to change so only time will tell but I think the Jazz are very comfortable with extending liar Mark and at that point you’ll see more suitors potentially as well in him not just teams that feel like okay we’ll be able to resign him and that is the big question that I posed today Brandon bimy if you threw him into that trade that the Warriors have already offered with Moses Moody and the draft capital is that something that would be okay with you to bring back Lowry marinan and help the Warriors go after it for the final two years of Curry’s remaining contract is it something you would do we’re discussing it coming up I’m a big Sports guy so much to the point that I don’t like when they stop and unfortunately this time of the year the r silent sure you can find a tennis tournament there’s some golf going on maybe some bowling some darts some other miscellaneous sports that I don’t get as fired up about because baseball has hit the All-Star break it’s the dog days of summer and this time of July it’s where the the sporting world is as silent as it pretty much is All Season the good news all I have to do is the GM tag and I will um give you my verdict on whether I think the Warriors should make this trade or Not So based on the initial demand for from Danny a it seems like they know the Leverage is on their side it seems like they know that they can just Reign Lowry marinin they don’t have to give him up for just Moses Moody and some draft picks so they won’t and maybe the draft picks would be enticing to many teams but the Jazz already have a million of them Le let’s look at it from Utah’s perspective they added on Minnesota’s first round picks in 2025 2027 and 2029 now based on the way that Minnesota finished last season going to the Western Conference Finals I would not imagine that those picks are going to be very high in the NBA draft at least 2025 we’ll see about 27 and 29 so you add in Golden State’s picks there the more the marrier that’s the old saying I don’t think they’re going to complain about it but it’s not going to get the job done for low marketing but I need to know some variables if I would counter this offer I’m thinking in my head all the different trade offers and all the different uh financial pieces that go into play and just the the um best case scenarios the worst case scenarios of all this in order to make a real argument for the Warriors going after marketing variable one as of July 15 do you believe Jonathan kaminga can effectively play the three can he be the small forward also how much do you believe in Andrew Wiggins having a bounce back season because if Wiggins is indeed cooked at age 29 like a lot of people think and you’re giving up kaminga then what’s your plan I mean you can play position lless basketball to some degree and you know stick Gary Payton in there at the three try to make things work no that is a horrible idea you have zero depth at that small forward position right now and for that reason alone I think you have to bank on kaminga being able to play the three and not including him in the deal but the deal could still get done with Brandon bimy but the other variable let’s call it 1B is that maybe they do want Jonathan kaminga and that moves the needle here you somehow find another team that’s looking for a retool and somehow someway you find a Surefire small forward that maybe doesn’t have a ton of upside that’s not an All-Star but a starting caliber player in the NBA he’s included in the deal he comes back to the Warriors you get rid of Jonathan kaminga maybe impossible for financial reasons that I don’t want to go through right now but you know I’m at least gonna entertain that offer if that was something that’s on the table but that you know is the variable that could potentially have them move Jonathan kaminga it sounds however that the Jazz don’t want Jonathan kaminga that they want Brandon bimy and bimy only so that’s the obvious second variable you keep kaminga you offer the same package with pimpy would you be willing to do it based on everything I just said I’m saying no Warriors should stay put worst case scenario ride this thing to the deadline if you’re sitting around 500 or something you need more pieces to compete then you talk about shipping some of these young players for other guys other stars that are disgruntled because a lot changes in the NBA very quickly and I’ve heard the name Giannis in the Bay Area for quite some time maybe things go south in Milwaukee LeBron James he’s only on a one-year contract no I know the whole Brony situation adds another wrinkle into this but he has always said that he wanted to play with Steph Curry maybe entertain that option in the off season I there’s so many different options and scenarios that you can look at and unfortunately if you go all in with Lowry marinin you don’t have that optionality we’ve heard optionality I don’t think that’s what the uh the term is actually meant to describe but for the sake of the argument that’s what we’re talking about here I want Lowry Markin I just don’t want him that bad if the Jazz would have jumped at the offer for all those draft picks in Moses Moody I would have said absolutely I cannot believe we just landed this caliber of a player for that package if they threw in Brandon baj jimsky and the job got done maybe you know I I I’d sleep on it tonight I’d sleep on it tomorrow I’d sleep on it all the way up to August 6th and it’s something that I would potentially do and quite frankly on the spot right now I think I’d do that I really do think I would do that and that’s why I believe that this is not a thousand perc dead because I don’t think the Warriors have 100% taking that offer off the table but realistically with Danny a I don’t think that’s going to get the job done I think they need Jonathan kaminga in there too they want all three like they’ve asked and it just doesn’t make sense to me I have wondered how good Jonathan kaminga can be and we’ll talk about bimy in just a minute coming up along with Trace Jackson Davis but kaminga to me let’s because the the potential is Limitless and at the very least he’s already a solid NBA player he he’s proven that I know there’s a lot to desire in terms of basketball IQ just the Natural Instincts that he has for the game maybe the motor the consistent motor sometimes his ability to play the small forward position there’s still a lot left to be desired sure but a comparison that we’ve heard and one that I’m G to use for the sake of the argument is Shawn Maran player that was in the NBA for a very long time let’s get the exact numbers up just to kind of break down with the Warriors would be trading away if he had a career like a Shawn Maran and Shawn Maran I think you know 6’7 220 played the small forward and the power forward it’s a fair comparison also had one of the most disgusting three-point shots you’ll ever see now he did have some Seasons where it went down but um for his career was just 33% so he’s one of those guys that prove that you could be a really good player in the league without shooting the ball really well he played 15 seasons in the NBA um much better Defender than Jonathan kaminga so I know that’s a uh ridiculous exercise we’re using but this is what we do in uh the middle of July during Allstar Weekend in baseball we got to find some hypotheticals and Shawn Marian equals Jonathan kaminga if that is the case and kaminga has a lot more Talent a lot higher of a ceiling than Shawn Marion ever did but if he has a similar trajectory is that type of a player the answer is hell no you would not trade that player that also is trending towards a position that you need to fill if Andrew Wiggins is not the uh the same guy that he was in 2122 you need him to be your starting small forward now low can play a lot of different positions can guard a lot of different positions but um when you throw in all the things that the Jazz are asking it just does not make sense to me and that’s my my final take on this with pimpy Moody and the draft picks maybe you throw in Jonathan kaminga the deal is 100% done and the Warriors know that that is why they said it is a nonstarter Brandon baj jimsky and Trace Jackson Davis have officially broadcast with uh Doris Burke on the call and she just could not stop talking about the Warriors to the point where I forgot that the Bulls were even playing in the game they may have featured a Bulls player for a few minutes here and there but all the talk was on Brandon bimy Trace Jackson Davis she actually gave a lot of love to Kevin Knox Ethan Thompson and to Quan plow and as well Warriors look good they’re undefeated right now in the summer they won the California classic and took home the Mitch Richmond Trophy and for those efforts their two star players have graduated and taken their talents to anywhere but the summer league that’s Brandon paj jimsky and Trace Jackson Davis first paj jimsky 21 points on Sunday’s win over the Bulls uh eight of 14 shooting was four of eight from three seven assists 12 rebounds seven assists 12 rebounds he’s flirting with being a Mr triple double type guy I don’t know if he’s ever goingon to have the uh the boards to his name I know he did have 12 in this one but six foot three grabbing 12 boards that’s pretty good it’s not something you’d expect consistently but with the way he’s been playing and the facilitator role that he’s taken on this offseason it is not crazy to think that Brandon moving forward is one of those players that could average six seven assists per game game and get to double digits quite often and then down low Trace Jackson Davis 17 points 10 rebounds Jackson Davis is uh he’s excellent both of these guys Brandon and Trace Jackson Davis are playing for the USA select team scrimmaging the big kahunas p Jim’s picking up Steph Curry full court in their scrimmages with the big United States team and Trace Jackson Davis is banging down low against the likes of Joel embiid and Anthony Davis and the list goes on and on some big-time players and he’s pretty Fearless it’s how he played in Indiana it’s how he played in his rookie year it is what he does they actually ESPN interviewed Dron green during the summer league broadcast on Sunday and asked him what was it like for you playing in the US select games you know back in the day what did you learn from that experience and he basically just said it’s one of those moments where you kind of realize that you are capable of playing at this level a they picked me to be on this team they believe in me which gives me confidence and B practicing against better competition makes you better um that is quite frankly one of the most well-known rules in any sport this off season we’ve all kind of talked a lot about what psky brings to the table moving forward Ward whether he’s a point guard or whether he’s a shooting guard we know his skill set he’s someone that is going to knock down three-pointers he’s gonna facilitate he’s gonna get in the lane make smart decisions from time to time now he did have uh along with his seven assists he had seven turnovers so if you want him to be a point guard you got to protect the basketball I remember in that California classic game a week ago against the Sacramento Kings with seconds left he was trying to create a shot for himself with seconds on the line to win the basketball game and all of a sudden was caught in no man’s land near half court and I think it was Keon Ellis fou him and put him to the line and that’s where Brandon sunk a free throw to win the game to be the hero but in any situation that wasn’t a summer league game he would have been toast there would have lost the ball someone would have taken it the other way laid it up and in and we would have done an entire show on how Brandon bimy is not fit to be a point guard because he turned it over seven times in a summer league basketball game so that’s the big thing with bimy how good is his three-point shot gonna be can he hit it at a 40% clip because if he can he’s extremely dangerous because he has some some basketball Street smarts that you can’t really teach just a natural instinct for the game something that people complain Jonathan kaminga doesn’t have Brandon binsky has it as for Trace Jackson Davis I really want to focus on him and what he brings to the Warriors this year because assuming they don’t get low marinin him and cavon Looney are your bigs and Quenton post if he makes the team that’s really all you got right now for Golden State and I love Trace as a rim protector uh great Mobility the athleticism off the charts for someone his size feel like he can dominate the paint on both but specifically defensively offensively I think he’s someone that could give you 12 points a game this season um I I would put the over under at about 11 and a half points per game this season and could push it a little I mean he’s what six foot what what’s the official height on him 69 245 and every once in a while he’ll get a board and he’ll just push it up the floor see a little bit of Dramon Den him in regards to that so swings a few elbows not going to question as tough you say what are the cons with Trace Jackson Davis he’s tough gets boards has some post moves really good passer High basketball IQ well he can’t shoot a lick you know you’re you’re not gonna give Trace Jackson Davis the ball behind the three-point line and expect him to create his own shot that’s not what he’s gonna do but he can go downhill and can finish so I I like what he brings to the table just a a menace defensively has good help defense good on the pick and roll good timing on his shot blocking um in both drop coverage and like the soft Hedges that I’ve seen he’s got good distance you know and and picks good angles feels like he always knows when to return to the role man a comparison that I’ve heard for Trace Jackson Davis is like a prime montre heral a bigger montress her because he’s six foot seven but um that that’s kind of the guy that that I’ve heard quite a bit and if you got Prime Montres herrell on your team you don’t complain about that at all so everything about Trace Jackson Davis’s game he just is the word I’d use to describe him is solid just from the way he’s built to the way that he plays just a very solid basketball player maybe will never be a star but I feel like his ceiling or his floor rather is very high he has a very high floor he’s going to be a good basketball player in this league for a long time and he is ready to contribute as most likely the Warriors
