Josh Christopher Goes UNCONSCIOUS as Miami Heat beat OKC Thunder | Jaime Jaquez, Kel’el Ware SHINE

man listen listen in my last video my last postgame to summer league right I titled it the Miami he’ have the most dominant summer league team ever and I had a whole bunch of hater Celtics fans in my comments saying oh y’all only one by five how the hell is that dominant well how is the 30o dub versus the Oklahoma City Thunder listen I also started that video by saying the heat summer league roster is an Allstar roster and I joked saying you know if they were in the actual NBA they they could win 40 games or 50 games is is that a joke still yeah it’s it’s obviously a joke I I just want to make clear that uh I understand it’s summer league and I want to put some perspective on all this but that being said I’m reacting to the game so yes I’m going sit here and Get Hype when we seen a game that’s amazing and this Heat team they are truly loaded with just insane Talent seriously they have seven or eight guys that could really make a difference on an NBA team right now I don’t even know where to start I want to start with Josh Christopher because that that fourth quarter that he had oh my God it’s fresh in my mind but I think I’m going start with kame ham hakz Jr who did confirm after the game it’s his final Summer League game he said he’s been in Vegas for a minute he he wants to go home I get it he was practicing with Team USA he got some run in you know with this unit and while I agree he probably didn’t need to obviously he he played 75 games last year for the heat that’s more than anybody I understand why the heat did want to give him some burn let him run as the guy you know they had they interviewed yonis hasm during the game and UD said hey Ham is gonna it’s his time to step up this year you know you have no more cayb Martin and UD specifically said ham is going to take a lot of those minutes he’s going to need to be a lot more aggressive on offense and allowing him to be the guy in summer league kind of allows him to Showcase that now I did say the word showcase and I heard Tobin say a theory on the radio basically saying hm are the Miami Heat trun to showcase jameh hakz for a lari marketing trade I I don’t think so I think they just wanted to let him run as the guy and tonight again obviously another great game for him 23 minutes and or 23 points in 23 minutes uh five rebounds two assists two steals eight of 13 three of five from three Uber efficient from all over the place and obviously I think the shooting is the thing that he said himself he really wants to improve going into his sophomore season he said he wants to be a knockdown shooter we’ve seen the offseason videos with the form looking great and it was nice to see him knock it down at a 60% clip tonight another theory I heard about him playing in the summer league is they want to give him some run at point guard kind of see how he handles that and only two assists tonight but I do feel like he made some really nice plays had a great lob to kware ear earlier in the game and we have seen that connection multiple times throughout the last couple games of Summer League again though three turnovers for hameh hakz last game I didn’t even mention you know he was great all around I think he had five assists but he also had five turnovers I don’t think hameh haakas is a playmaker you know not not a point guard is he a guy that can find the open man sure but you don’t want him to be the facilitator of your offense so maybe the heat just wanted to see if it was possible but going into the regular season he’s not going to have that role you know he’s either going to be you know the glue guy in the starting lineup that could get you a bucket or the guy coming off the bench that could get you a bucket and obviously play defense really do a little bit of everything cuz obviously his offensive game is is crazy the finishes he had today was Unreal driving into the paint and ones contorting his body he is insane at finishing in a way exponentially better than Caleb Martin so they’re not similar in that regard at all but it’s clear if you watching these games jameh hakz is just way better than everyone out there which is exactly what you want to see when you’re talking about a guy that is going to be a pretty you know integral part of your rotation going to next season can’t say enough good things about my boy kame hame HZ Jr moving on let’s go back to the bench Josh Christopher 23 points tonight in 20 minutes uh but 20 of those were in the fourth quarter if y’all did not see Josh Christopher tonight oh I feel sorry for you this is one of those alltime memorable performances I don’t care if it’s summer league I’m going to be talking about this to my boys 20 years from now remember that game Josh Christopher head and who knows maybe it leads to great things I mean we heard his story last game he basically reached out to you saying hey my career is not going the way I wanted to I think I need that heat culture I need that discipline that you guys instill and obviously I respect the hell out of that I respect the hell out of a guy who wants to work and apparently Christopher’s been working with the heat since May so he’s been with the organization the last couple months he’s been able to get some run in the summer league and last game scored 20 points I need to correct myself I say khil we was the second leading scorer it was Josh Christopher with 20 piece off the bench and today again absolutely caught fire from three hit a crazy Fade Away falling out of bounce had a couple nasty slams I need to do a deeper dive on Josh Christopher just like I did with Isaiah Stevens in my last video kind of broke him down said where he came from I really got to do a video on Christopher because he is again he’s making himself he he’s playing too good to ignore and that’s been the theme with a lot of guys on this team we can oh and I should mention his defense too because he is a dog on defense and for him to reach out to Udonis Haslam we know he must be gritty on the defensive side of the ball because you’re not coming to Miami if you just think you going to shoot and do nothing else because that is what kind of you know Christopher was looked at in the league is kind of a streaky shooter a Tim Hardway Jr type but he’s showing that he can be pretty good on both sides of the ball same thing with Isaiah Stevens to kind of transition into him now in the video I just posted I broke him down you know his offensive game and stuff and I I did want to say I should have mentioned his defense because even today I felt like he continued hustling hard on defense being a pest on that end and really affecting his opponents even though he’s only six feet so shout out to Isaiah Stevens defense too but we know he can facilitate but in my previous video I also kind of talked about how versatile a scorer he is and we saw that today too now the boy only finished with he didn’t he also did not start today they started Z ping so off the bench for him in 21 minutes only scored nine points nine points and seven assists with one turnover so obviously the ratio is insane but he hit like backto back threes in the second half to really pull away tough shots catch and shoot and really continues to be super impressive obviously the scoring is not going to jump out at you but what I want to talk about is the efficiency again one or two from three oh no that’s name three of three from three today three of five overall and he was a very efficient scorer in college that is what he is a no mistake guy and that’s what this Heat team needs when you trying to fit in some guys into a core that that you already have set trying to win a championship you want to bring in a point guard that could run the offense and not mess anything up and not only does Isaiah Stevens do that he alleviates the play of everyone else again amazing passes today should have had more to be honest had a few to Kad Johnson y’all know I love Kad he didn’t have the best game today 11.7 rebounds for him shot three of five you know did hit a three uh did he have any offensive re today had another two so obviously Kad Johnson hustling hard Sensational defensively again let me make that very clear Kea Johnson was incredible on that side of the ball and rebounding just he didn’t finish as well today as you would have hope but we’ve talked about Kad Johnson enough so we can focus on some other guys this video but obviously Isaiah ping incredible facilitating once again finding guys all over the place and running an offense beautifully they gave him a ton of credit on the broadcast which I also love to see so shout out to Isaiah Stevens check out my my last video for some more information there but Zion Poland did get the start today which I like to see because I really lik Zion Poland out of Florida when the heat draft or when the heat signed him as an undrafted free agent but I wanted to see him get some more run is the guy was playing a little bit behind Alis Williams was playing behind Isaiah Stevens so it was nice to see Zion pull and get the start but only play 18 minutes I guess and again doesn’t stand out at you six points uh two rebounds two assists but he’s also like Isaiah Stevens in the fact that he doesn’t make mistakes just he also is does not stuff the stat sheet as much but he is a guy that does seem like he’s capable of running an offense right now I just don’t think he’s as great a facilitator as Isaiah Stevens I know also in my last video I didn’t mention Isaiah Stevens contract there’s some confusion about that because right now you have two three-way spots or three two-way spots filled Drew Smith kashad Johnson Zion Pand now obviously a lot of people want Drew Smith replaced with someone else they say Isaiah Stevens they say Lis Williams Co wer Josh Christopher right but Isaiah Stevens is technically on an exhibit 10 contract which is basically a non-g guaranteed contract so I’m actually unclear on on how that works I just know it’s not a standard deal but I do think it’s above a two-way if I’m not not mistaken I don’t think he can get poached meaning just I just got a text did he trade for Larry marinin no then you’re going on silent listen it it’s just it’s not a standard deal I think if he plays well it becomes guaranteed but if it doesn’t they could sort of wave him and it doesn’t count against the cap that’s kind of what Isaiah stev’s contract is but I believe it’s higher than a two-way just to clarify so if somebody does take Drew Smith’s spot it’s most likely going to be Josh Christopher or Co Sider who we can talk about him real quick it’s his first bad game he was shooting like 60% from three before this today he was one to six from three so whatever I’m cool with you cowi you’re very one-dimensional obviously and when you’re not hitting your shots it hurts but it is what it is uh we can round out the bench here before we we talk about the rest of the starting lineup uh because Alis Williams nice to see him come back after sitting out last game uh or no did he play the last game I forget he sat one of the games this summer league uh but today Five Points five assists uh 204 from him had a nasty dunk he is obviously a great player very capable scorer did have five assists today but he’s not as great a playmaker as you know stevens or Pand I think and unfortunately as good as Alis Williams is I just don’t think the heat need his type of player because if you look at your guards Terry Rosier Duncan Robinson Tyler herro they’re all scorers you know Alis Williams is very Shifty it’s very similar to terer I get it he’s great but it’s too similar what the heat don’t have is a true facilitator so I don’t want to lose Alis Williams I don’t want to lose Co swatter but I don’t think there’s spots for on this roster at least not over the other guys that we’ve been seeing here because at least Josh Christopher I get he’s a shooter but he I really love what I’ve seen defensively from him I mean he’s athletic too alonis Williams athletic I don’t know I guess I don’t think either one of those guys gets a spots but if you give Drew Drew Smith two-way spot to someone I I I don’t know who then again unless they can give it to Isaiah Stevens I’m kind of still confused on that exhibit 10 uh but yeah so back to the starting lineup uh P Larson nine points three rebounds two assists two steals didn’t shoot efficient was 3 to n continues to get to the free throw line though three to 10 for him today all I want to say about him is that you wish he would stand out a little bit more than he has being that he was your second round pick but what I do like is that he has shown he can do a little bit of everything and always be very consistently guarding the ball on defense so if you are down on P Larson I’ve heard people say oh they should have cut him and signed Kad Johnson instead I get it and maybe they certainly should have cuz kashad looks better but I believe in P Larson he was supposed to be a ready now guy at his age you know I think he’s 23 unfortunately he he doesn’t seem like it just yet but I like what I’ve seen from the versatility give him some games in the regular season to really get adjusted and I think we’ll all be pleasantly surprised with how versatile P Larson is and to round it out the guy that I should be uh that I am maybe the most excited to talk about today so I saved the best for last is khil Weare 24 minutes 11 points 12 rebounds five or 12 from him and he did hit a three today one to two from there obviously the thing that stands out is the rebounding I’ve got a lot of comments over the last several days saying oh khil we he doesn’t try hard on the boards he doesn’t have energy there he’s too he’s too soft and what I was kind of saying was I don’t think it’s an effort thing because he tries his ass off on defense it is not easy to rotate back and forth to you know to block all the shots that he’s been getting so I don’t think it’s on an energy thing I just don’t think he chases a lot of these rebounds because he’s not strong enough yet they said he’s 240 maybe he looks a little bit skinnier I’m not entirely sure but you see in games like tonight he is more than capable of getting a lot of rebounds and he does look big big out there compared to a lot of guys it’s going to be different in the league you know today he was kind of feasting on the mouse in the house a GU a lot smaller than him had a couple and ones look good he was very his his presence was felt in the paint and he was taking advantage of mismatches which I like and I like that the rebounding numbers were up so I’m not saying this one game you know proves me proves me right that no it’s it’s not an energy thing when he tries he can get it I think he tried today and I also just think he was bigger than everyone else but I mean that’s fine he’s 20 years old give him a few months in the system to build up a little bit learn when to attack the glass learn when not to and there will be games when other teams go small ball in the actual NBA and I think he will be able to clean up the glass pretty pretty well but I I don’t think he’ll be as good a rebounder as we want him to be for a couple years just because of the size but anyways that’s all I got to
