yo what’s going on everybody you’re watching Nicks Now by Chad Sports I’m your host Marshall Green not at the studio today and I didn’t get a chance last night to break down the campaign signing the veteran point guard joining the New York Knicks I was as I was at the Home Run Derby here in Arlington Texas when that broke so I really wasn’t able to do it but I still wanted to hop on here before I head to the dentist to get some wisdom teeth pulled out and talk about campaign cuz I’m not sure when the next video I’ll be able to talk is but this is why you subscribe to the channel no matter what Knicks kind of a shocker yesterday the New York Knicks inking campaign to a one-year veteran minimum deal to come join the New York Knicks what does this mean for Miles McBride what does this mean for pre sucha the rest of the roster and could another trade be coming and as we’ve hinted at a couple times on this channel I think Leon Rose is cooking something up and the signing of campaign yesterday made me feel even stronger in that belief as we’ve been talking about it for weeks on this channel let’s talk about campaign the player what he’s going to bring to the Knicks and then let’s close the show talking about is a trade coming first off campay has been in the NBA for a long time he entered the league in 2015 2016 16 when he was drafted by the Oklahoma City Thunder with the 14th pick in the 2015 NBA draft and he’s bounced around a little bit he spent four seasons with Phoenix really good in that playoff run when they went to the NBA finals teammates with male Bridges bridges went to social media yesterday to kind of celebrate the signing of his former friend they will definitely be doing some Tick Tock dances together be hanging out and the Good Vibes will be brought as The Vibes are always Immaculate with the New York Nicks spent the first two years of his career with the Oklahoma City Thunder three years with the Chicago Bulls one year with the Milwaukee Bucks and uh last year with the Philadelphia 76ers got up close and personal look at him in the NBA playoffs and he also spent some time with the Cleveland Cavaliers last year with the Philadelphia 76ers he played in 31 games he had eight starts averaging 19.4 minutes per game and he averaged 9.3 points per game 3.1 assists shot just 41% from the field but 38% from three campaign has become a knockdown shooter in this league you go back and look over and I’ll just look up the stats right here since this 2020 season he is shooting 38% from three on 3.5 attempts so he can get him up he can knock him down and he had some pretty big shots in that playoff series for the Philadelphia 76ers as I’ve got his game log pulled up right here it just seemed like whenever Philly needed a bu bucket campaign answered and I remember that game three game same day of the NFL draft that was a joke um that the Knicks ended up losing by 11 points to the Philadelphia 76ers campaign was a plus n in that ball game he had 11 points three assists he was four7 from the field three of four from downtown in the game five win that they had to he was two of five from downtown and he had six points to go with another uh one assist two rebounds and he had a steal as well in that game six ball game where they did end up losing in the Knicks ADV manage cuz they were the better basketball team um but campaign what is it going to bring to this team another point guard another guy that you can really have run your offense when Jaylen Brunson is not on the four those 13 to 15 minutes a night when brunson’s resting or needs a night off or whatever it may be you can have Cam go out there and somewhat run your offense is he going to do it at the same level of Jaylen Brunson absolutely not not even close the same player there’s a reason that he’s signing a veteran minimum deal on July 15th but a guy that you can trust to one keep a good Pace at the game he can I would say create for others he can get in the paint he can drive he can kick he’s a skilled passer as well throughout his career he averages 3.3 assists um in 17.9 minutes per game so the per 36 numbers he’s almost at seven assists per game in 36 minutes another guy that Tom tibo Tom Tibido can trust with the ball in his hands it’s really all it is I wonder how much of the rotation he’ll be a part of um I assume to start the season he’ll be the first point guard Off the Bench alongside Dante dienzo and dece McBride with Josh Hart and whoever your big man’s going to be um we’ve always known that Tom Tibido has been a guy that’s been reluctant to just throw the rookies into the fire right out of the gate uh I thought Tyler coak and I still do believe that coak can be that guy but this kind of gives you a bridge option kind of like a bridge quarterback in the NFL maybe campaign is the first backup that Tom Tibido leans on in the early part of the season and then as the season continues to roll on um there might be a hand passing of the guard and a handoff of that responsibility to Tyler KCK look campaign he’s a veteran he can run your offense he can distribute he can create for others he’s a solid playmaker he’s had some big moments in this league you go and look at his Playoff stats he’s played 58 playoff games six starts uh that run with Phoenix when they went to the NBA finals he appeared in 22 games averaging 19 minutes per game giving you nine nine points per game 3.2 assists so you get a veteran you could trust can run your offense can get the ball to your guys in spots that they can execute has relationship with male Bridges and he’s someone that’s improved every single year as a three-point shooter I I don’t mind the signing at all definitely a little bit of a surprise as there feels like there’s a bigger need for the big man spot but campaign you are a New York Nick everybody Welcome campaign to the Knicks just type those CPS down below um The Vibes will be brought he likes to bring energy I saw a quote yesterday that I really loved from him he said uh energy is free and that’s something that you have to bring Off the Bench and that’s something that I’m always going to do and that was something that I really appreciated from him he also talked about how prior to the playoff series when he was on the Philadelphia 76ers he was talking about wanting to hit threes in the garden and skipping up and down the floor he’ll bring some juice he’ll bring some Vibes to the gam of the garden um glad he’s a part of the Knicks and I can’t wait to see how this team continues to unfold what does this mean for the rest of the ball club though are the Knicks going to enter the season with Jaylen Brunson campaign Tyler KCK and Duce McBride at the point guard spot is Duce McBride a point guard I say no that doesn’t mean he’s not a good player I think he’s a very valuable player and I think he’s someone that’s going to be successful in the NBA for a really long time he can guard a lot of different players he’s an elite Defender he can get sticky on the defensive end and he’s proved every single year improved that he can hit that outside shot and he’s gotten better at doing so that’s a very valuable player in this league but the facts are the facts he’s not a point guard he can’t set the table he can’t run an offense he can’t get to the cup enough he can’t create he’s not that great of a floor General I don’t think he’s got great Court Vision but what does he have good what is he good at guarding scoring shooting and those are three skills that will always translate to a winning team the question is the New York Knicks going to enter the season with four of those point guards the Knicks even view miles mcbry as a point guard um Tim Bond temps of ESPN yesterday said he believes that Ryan Archie deako will resign with the Knicks so you’re going to have five point guards and no backup center look I’m not pushing for a mile McBride trade um but I trust my journalistic instincts and there’s something cooking here the Knicks are not done making moves whether that means McBride is out or whether it means McBride is staying just keep your eye on it there’s going to be a move made whether that means they resign press Thea I believe they’re going to try to do that or involve him in a signing trade I think they’re going to try to make a trade for another Center whether it be a starting center whether that’ be a backup center we broke down the quotes from me and Begley yesterday that he said the next move was going to be a backup center and they’ve explored trading for a high salary veteran in this league Leon Rose is not done he’s going to continue to add to this team you don’t go all in for OG and male Bridges and have Jaylen Brunson sign a discount and then get word Mel Bridges is going to sign a discount to roll with Mitchel Robinson Jericho Sims and Ariel Huck pory as your three player Center rotation something’s coming I don’t know what it is I think it’s a trade I think they’re going to trade for a center and maybe it’s Walker Kessler maybe it’s Nick Richards maybe it’s Jaylen Duren maybe they swing for the fences and go for somebody bigger we’ve heard Carl Anthony towns’ name for years now at this point be linked to the Knicks something’s going to happen there’s going to be another move coming to this team that’s why
