you ready for me great to metion man than I feel like I’m in the Lion’s Den here man wow something let’s hold this guy we pick him play we have a a guest and member of the magic family Logan yees what the Orlando Magic select Tristan D Silva with the 18 pick in the 2024 NBA draft the Orlando Magic select Tristan da Silva from Munich Germany and the University of [Applause] Colorado I was sitting at the table with my people back from Munich uh my dad my mom my brother two of my best friends and then my coach out of Munich and yeah it was just kind of like a relief uh to to hear my name called and sitting there waiting and you know I knew they were going to pick me up but it doesn’t really happen till Adam Sila calls your [Music] name that was really like the moment where that kind of joy and that high that I’m on right now uh kind of started because that’s really what you uh what you live for as a basketball player you know you hear though that the the start of that iconic line in the 2024 for NBA draft the Orlando Magic select Tristan da Silva um when when Adam Silva start saying that and then you know hearing your name instead of you know somebody else in your class or somebody else that’s that’s been drafted the years prior just feels [Music] surreal right now it’s just crazy a lot of Impressions a lot of excitement a lot of gratitude very humble right now but yeah it’s crazy I saw you open this so these are all the things that are important to you I assume yeah basically where I grew up Munich uh Bavarian flag Bavarian logo uh Club I played for before I came to the states and then Brazil with the Buffs on here yeah and then this is where I started playing basketball that’s awesome I like it Josh orl magic.com how do well do you feel you fit in with the Orlando Magic a team that obviously is on the rise in the Easter cupin I feel like I fit in great um you know I’m going to make sure uh that I get myself adjusted to whatever the team needs um whatever the players on that team need um for us to be successful so with my high IQ and my versatility I feel like there’s a lot of different spots I can fill and a lot of you know different needs I can address it’s been a long evening but it’s been a lot of fun and Orlando I’ll see you real [Music] so trist this is our mascot stuff with my parents here it’s a it’s a big deal for me uh know I owe them everything so for me um it’s really special to kind of take them with me on this journey and you know make sure that they meet everybody that I’m out to and kind of get a sense of where I’m going and the people that I’m around [Music] thank how you doing sir I’m good I’m good how are you I’m very good to you good to great to be here I’m excited right now hi how are you yeah it’s a lot it’s a lot going on but good the start of your journey is is an awesome thing yeah man you got the glasses on and everything [Laughter] [Applause] oh okay [Music] [Applause] okay all right tell us uh what the last 48 hours have been like for you getting drafted to to sitting here now yeah it’s kind of crazy I mean it’s a it’s a whirlwind of emotions um and you know I’m just really blessed really thankful uh to to be here and kind of you know share this moment with my family uh you know some of my best friends came out to to New York to be at the draft with me and um yeah it’s I mean it’s slowly starting to kick in a little bit that I’m actually here and I’ve you know made this huge step from from the Collegiate level to the professional level now and um you know I can’t I can’t wait to just really get going and uh you know actually start playing welcome to’s here for Tristan Mo and Jeff welman Perfect Fit know finally dipping my toes a little bit I mean I was definitely keeping uh Orlando at the top of my my list just because of you know the the resources that I have here from you know facility to the organizational structure and team and and the people that work here I felt like it was a it was a really really good fit for me and um obviously we got the Germans here too so I’m I’m looking forward to to connecting with them I can’t miss this no I mean no that’s a w
