HOUR 3: Utah Jazz NBA summer league standouts | Jacoby Jones gone too soon + MORE
looking for the latest on the Jazz Utes cougars and Aggies we’ve got you covered this is H Olsen and Scotty G on 975 the sports [Applause] [Music] Z but that new bre ain’t no Papa’s Got a Brand New [Music] B it’s not too [Music] fancy but it’s fine it’s pretty clean hands on Scotty 975 the KSL Sports Zone here’s a man who knows how to juggle his responsibilities not only is he hanging out with us in Vegas at Big 12 media day but he’s also keeping tabs on what’s going on at jazz summer league he’s our Jazz Insider you hear him every day from 10 to 12 and one of the best dudes on the planet Ben Anderson kind enough to join us Ben how are you hello Ben good how are you guys good we miss you we miss you Ben we we enjoyed hanging out with you down in Vegas you good did you make it back all right Life’s good yeah man I thought I thought we had a good time hey uh so Ben I’m coming up with a 2024 25 season game plan and I don’t know how I’m going to execute it but I’m gonna have it be the Cavs the Timberwolves and the Jazz with the three worst records in the league what percentage shot does that get me at Cooper flag 45 I think everyone has a 15% chance in the top four spots so yeah you’d be a favorite so I don’t know I but then I’m like okay well how do you pull something like that off it’s gonna take a lot of injuries it’s gonna take a lot of dirty play uh and then tanking on the Jazz part I mean the Jazz part’s easy they just lose as many games as they want but yeah you gotta really take advantage of your rare opportunities when you’re playing the timber rolls and the Cavs to take out their best players well the Jazz have uh fooled around the last couple years and had good starts to well relatively good starts to the season especially two years ago uh do you anticipate that they’re at this point being like okay we’re not fooling around this year we’re going to we’re going to be bad right from the start I do think they’re less talented going to this season than they were either of the last two years and that you know that matters you know do I think Cody Williams and and Keon George can be better than Malik Beasley and Jared Vanderbilt sure but those guys were on your roster uh and you know can Walker Kessler be better than Kelly oen yes he can can Taylor Hendricks be better than Simone fono yes he can but those guys were pretty good players last year were you know certified rotation players who had played a lot of basketball maybe not just NBA basketball in pono’s situation but guys who have played a lot of Hoops and and they learn how to help you win games and they’re fighting for their careers Jazz don’t have guys I mean you know you could buy into contract years or not but Kelly oen needed to stick in the NBA he needed to play well last year Simone Pono needed to stick in the NBA he needed to play well last year they were trying to sign contracts this offseason so they didn’t have any interest in not winning games and it can be a little bit easier I think when uh you have guys who aren’t in contract Seasons to convince hey this is better for the team we want you to be a part of our long-term future and you know the only the only guy or two guys who could potentially be heading into contract years this year are Lowry marinin and John Collins if he would have opt out of his deal next year uh so you just have a little bit more control over I think your long-term future uh and you’re just not as talented as you were two years ago or last year so help me understand this for sure so the Utah Jazz are in the top 10 it does not convey correct if the Jazz are in the top 10 it does convey if they have one of the 10 uh yes it does not convey Excuse me yes if the Jazz end up with one of the 10 top 10 picks it doesn’t go to Oklahoma City if it’s 11 to 20 uh or 11 to30 excuse me it does go to Oklahoma City and then I think it’s next year it drops to eight I don’t think it’s this year that it drops to eight I think it’s next year but then if it doesn’t convey then then it it falls off right turns into a second round or something uh and I’m I’m not even sure if it does end up turning the second round or it might just consider forgiven so that you know there’s a chance that jazz just don’t pay him anything that’s a wild thought too because I mean there’s real potential that it doesn’t convey over the next two years is that that’s best case or or well that tells us that that jazz are one of the top eight or 10 worst teams in the NBA so it’s probably not the best news but getting those those picks are probably pretty good news yeah the only place it gets a little bit hairy is in 2026 so not next year’s draft with Cooper flag but the year after that with Cam Boozer is that you have all your pick swaps uh and I think it’s actually just the Cavaliers pick swap that year I could be wrong uh but I think you’re right the problem is if you don’t have a pick you can’t swap it so if your pick is conveying to Oklahoma City and even if the Cavs end up with a third pick and you have the 25th pick you can’t convey it because your pick belongs to Oklahoma City now if that were to happen the Jazz would do everything they could to get their pick back from OKC and give you know you got to understand OKC says well yes we don’t want to necessarily give the Jazz the number three overall pick but the 25th pick doesn’t have that much value to the Thunder if the Jazz would trade them an unprotected 2031 future first round pick that’s more valuable to OKC than just the 25th pick to screw the Jazz out of getting the third pick so that’s kind of worst case scenario with Cavs fall apart and the Jazz can’t swap their pick if that were to happen the Jazz would get their pick back they would find a way to do it so uh he’s no Victor and Victor’s in a Stratosphere all by himself but is Cooper flag worth it uh I I don’t know if any one player is worth it but next year having you know Ace Bailey and all the names that are coming over I think is worth it because if you’re betting on just this is kind of the the conversation I feel like I’ve been having with a lot of jazz fans online or talking to them in person is like I think you’re better off having the fifth worst record and Lowry marinin and Colin sex than neither of those guys and the worst record in the NBA because again you only have a what 14 to 20% chance whatever it is to get that number one overall pick it’s just you can’t bet it all on one guy but if you give yourself a chance hey everything works out you jump up you win the lottery great worst case scenario maybe you fall to six or seven again because a couple of teams leap you you still have two really good players in Lowry Markin and Colin seon and that five six seven pick whatever it is so honestly no would I throw away everything where I cash in all my chips to move up and get the number one overall pick no I don’t think VI Cooper flag can be Victor wanyama good he’s just he’s not 7 foot5 and that really helps to be seven foot five in that situation so he’s good I I wouldn’t bet on any one player most years being that good Okay so we’ve got Utah Summer League under our belts we now have a game of Vegas summer league under our belts I want you to order these three names worst to First okay in in terms of how they’ve played so far through City or through summer league Cody Williams Philip powski and Collier uh probably best is Collier second is Cody Williams third is uh Kyle filipowski now I mean colier hasn’t had the highs that we just saw from Cody Williams I Cody Williams one high that he just showed on Saturday night was as good as we that explosion to the rim is that what you’re talking about 21 points four assists three rebounds just like well three of six from three he never took six threes in college uh he never did that in the game just like could of all the pieces and he can dribble and he gets out on the fast break and he can rebound and go he can go the full length of the court so that’s all the highs are there uh the trick is to get him to not have the 0 of7 performance that he had before that Isaiah Coler has just consistently run the offense he’s not getting sped up he’s not playing like a me first point guard which is kind of who he was at USC now his teammates were so bad at USC it was hard to judge anything it was just that nightmare situation so it’s funny to see him coming out here and just getting off the ball as soon as he gets across half court and making smart reads and setting up plays to set up other guys who aren’t catching the ball off as his pass he just recognized hey if I throw this ball into the deep Corner the defense is going to rotate and there’s going to be a guy up on the wing that is wide open for a three we saw that a couple of times he just he really does see the game a play ahead or a pass ahead head which is encouraging he needs his teammates to do it and the nice thing is right now in in summer league Kyle filipowski is good enough to see those as well Kyle’s he’s a he’s he’s really smart he really sees the game as well so uh but if you’re counting all four games now that we’ve seen I’ve been really impressed with CER his assists are terrific he’s not turning the ball over at all which you know we you guys were both on the the pre-draft show and the draft night show and that was one of the things we talked about is he just he sprayed the ball everywhere he just threw it everywhere uh out of bounds over people tried to make stupid highlight reel passes into Tight Windows that didn’t work so the fact that he’s not doing that at all and not turning the ball over is great I know his three-point shooting is up a little bit from college he’s at like 36 right now if he had missed one more he would be at 33 which is exactly who he was in college so I’m not pretending he’s turned into some Elite shooter since he left USC but no just his Poise has been really really impressive to the point where I think he I think he might play I mean I think he might be the opening right night rotation and I don’t know if either Cody Williams or filipowski are ready for that but I I I’ve been impressed with all three I I thought filipowski played really well on Saturday night as well um obviously I mean dumb question here but just from a development standpoint how big of a blow is that Bryce inot out for the rest of G League or not g- league but out for the rest of the summer league I think it hurts him because I think he could get leapt and and that’s what’s hard for Bryce is that like very realistically one of these other guys who’s still playing and healthy could jump him in the rotation uh because he’s not done anything to prove he has to have minutes he was wasn’t very good over the last month of the Season he had a couple of weeks where I thought he shot really well and then he started dribbling too much and he’s been dribbling too much in college or in the the summer league as well he might just be a standstill three-point shooter uh who can make a couple of secondary plays but isn’t a primary offensive Creator and I know the Jazz have been asking him to do some of that uh but if Coler is ready to do that I mean you know that the Jazz already have Colin ston and Jordan Clarkson uh and keontay George who can do it so you just don’t need Bryce to be that person so I think it’s a blow for not just his development because he’s not going to play the next three games but just the fact that if Cody Williams shows he can do a lot of those things like just be a stationary three-point shooter or Kyle filipowski can be a stationary three-point shooter who doesn’t strictly have to play center uh I think there can be some value there and you know wait these guys are young these guys still have a lot to prove right cot has to prove he deserves to be in the NBA and the Jazz probably don’t feel like they invested all that much in him it was a 28th pick it’s just like it’s not like that was a lottery pick that some GM’s GNA lose their job over not that either Jazz front office members in danger of losing their jobs but no one’s going to lose sleep if Bryce Sensa doesn’t make it in the NBA and that’s that’s really tough for him to to hurt his finger now and just not get to put that that film on on camera we didn’t see Walker Kessler and Keon George in game one of Vegas summer league action are are we done are they done no more time for those guys yeah they’re not even on the roster uh and I didn’t I didn’t see Walker on the tape I’m obviously in Salt Lake I’m not down in Vegas but you saw Keon sitting courtside heon sitting with Johnny juang and they’re all celebrating and I didn’t see what Walker’s up to I don’t know where he is but he might very well be down there but yeah they’re not going to be playing in Las Vegas how’s uh Kenny Lofton doing through summer Lee less less impressive than I expected I thought he would be a little bit more instrumental and he may be a guy who either needs better players around him to really take advantage of his skill set or maybe he just had a fun couple of weeks the last stretch of the season for the Jazz and it doesn’t that’s all it ever is you know he’s on a non- guarant deal and I would think the Jazz would probably try and bring him back but if he continues to look I think like he has in summer league in Fall Camp he doesn’t necessarily have to be on the regular season roster and maybe you sign him just to have tradeable contracts and he’s lowc cost and he still has some some interesting upside but you know if it was be one thing if he was rebounding a lot and hitting threes and kind of showing a little bit of that big guy who can space the floor and he can do some of it but uh I just haven’t necessarily seen like the full buying of what the team is doing so I know people are throwing around the big game hunting and like okay well where’s the big game hunting but Danny a pretty much told us what was going to happen you know they might take a flyer and maybe try to take a big swing at somebody and if it doesn’t work out then they reassess and kind of change things up and I think that’s probably where they’re at right now but do you think that that’s the Jazz have officially turned that page to the point where they’re like okay this is who we are and um we there may have been a swing at a guy or two that didn’t come to fruition so now we’re going this direction is that set in stone or is there if the opportunity Rises they still might go after and and try to do something no I still check the NBA transaction pages every day and you know what an hour after free agency opened or 12 hours after free agency opened it was announced that the Jazz were signing Drew Eubanks and he hasn’t put pen to paper yet which doesn’t mean that deal is not going to happen but Kyle filipowski hasn’t signed either it means the Jazz are just maintaining absolute maximum cap flexibility as long as they can uh maybe some of that’s just for how they’ve got to figure out what money they’re going to give to Lowry this summer and coming up on August 6 I think that’s a major part of it but also just like if those guys are cool not signing and they you know you know that they’re going to be on the the roster next year and you’re just telling them to lay low for a little bit don’t get hurt and and injure your or or hurt your ability to sign a contract I think you’re in good shape and I think that’s where the Jazz must be is they just want to be a financially flexible as long as they can and B there’s value to being the Last Man Standing because inevitably I mean you got a whole Olympics coming up we don’t we don’t know if a key NBA player is going to get hurt and some team shifts and all of a sudden says oh man we need a center like we badly need a starting center and we have two future first- round picks that we will give you a big contract for Walker Kessler and throw in a couple of picks you just have to have the flexibility to take that guy back uh and the Jazz May willing may be fully willing to just wait until the end of the Olympics to see what NBA teams need because you lose a major piece on a contender who they want to replace him quickly okay you’re in great shape to be able to do that so I think there’s value to maintaining flexibility longer than anybody else does especially if the goal isn’t to hey put just the best team on paper that you can on on the floor and see what happens uh you can probably still make some of these moves late in the summer if you want to no reason to hurt yourself by sacrificing flexibility before then so we got an8 o’clock Mountain tip on ESPNU Sacramento Kings Utah Jazz tonight what should people be looking for for Ben what do you want to see tonight I I’m curious if uh Cody Williams continues to be as aggressive as he was and if he got a little bit of momentum uh out of that last game I want to see how he responds to that again you can go back and look at his game logs at Colorado like his first 10 games were awesome uh and then he gets hurt and he never kind of gets back to being that same guy but he was building something special that’s why he was conversation for the number one overall pick really early in the year and why the guy I think the Jazz were talking about when Danny a said at the end of the season there’s some guys we like uh I don’t know if they’re going to be on the board I think he said at eight at the time because that’s where the Jazz had finished with the worst record the lottery hadn’t happened yet he just like we don’t know if they’re going to be on the board still when we’re selecting but he thought they were good players in the draft I think he was talking about Cody Williams I’m I kind of think that’s the guy that jazz had liked for a while um so they were happy to get him there so let’s see what Cody B Builds on I think filipowski played a lot better uh I I would like to see if he can step out and hit a couple of Threes before the end of the summer league I like that he took nine in Salt Lake he didn’t take any in the last game and I get it find your rhythm find some easy baskets don’t rely solely on the three-point shot but if he can hit threes he becomes a significantly more valuable player and then yeah watch uh Isaiah call your’s assist numbers they’ve been really low and they’ve been fantastic and I want to see if he can continue to do that what other story lines are you seeing non Jazz related that that have impressed you out of Summer League uh oh I mean Reed Shepard’s just he rules he’s just the coolest player yeah from Houston uh he just has it all and the big question about him was like is he a point guard he didn’t purely play point guard at Kentucky it’s like well ky’s a joke uh coach Calipari is a joke and I know they played a little bit more wide open last year than they have traditionally but it’s like yeah give that dude the ball he’s got a perfect basketball IQ he makes great reads he doesn’t take twoo stupid shots and every shot he takes goes in it’s crazy he’s he’s gonna step in the NBA and within two or three years he’s not GNA be a Steph level shooter because comparing anyone to Steph is silly but I I think he will be the next great shooter in the NBA once Steph leaves and and I wanted to doubt myself over and over it was my favorite player in the draft and I still thought oh if I had the number one pick I’d probably go with somebody bigger like a re aay or an alexar and it’s just like man just watch him every time he plays it he does something awesome uh he’s so fun to watch so that’s the name I would keep an eye on and then Denver I hate that Denver tried to rebuild the back end of their championship roster with rookies and you know second-year players and young guys and not signing veterans and it’s like yeah you bet on donon Holmes and he tears his Achilles in his first professional game it’s like you you’re killing Nicola jokic’s Prime because you’re betting on Don Holmes who nobody’s ever heard of it’s like that’s just really bad front office work so I’m curious what Denver’s doing uh two two players really quick give me your thoughts on what you’ve seen from Brony and what you’ve seen from Edy uh I was sad for bronny uh that this continues to happen I mean this is just a nightmare and you can tell like he can do a couple of okay things in O in wide open space like he can dunk uh he can rebound a little cuz he’s pretty athletic but like they’re trying to have him run bring the ball up the court he’s just getting picked in the back court which look you know that was happening to keontay George last year as well Keon was getting ripped by better players but they’re just it’s just gonna be Target on his back and it’s GNA be really hard for him and honestly the brightest moment of his career is going to be being on the floor with LeBron James his dad and that’s what we’re going to remember it’s not going to be a Ken Griffey Jr taking the mantle from Ken senr and becoming you know one of the great players we’ve ever seen that’s just not going to happened and then I don’t know if we’re g to see Edie again and I get that Memphis is being very cautious with him he rolls his ankle against the Jazz in the first game and doesn’t play the last two games of the Salt Lake summer league he didn’t play over the weekend in memphis’s first game so I would like to see him play again I am a little bit concerned if like one ankle injury is gonna keep him out for two weeks uh he’s gonna get beat up in the NBA it’s goingon to be a lot of wear and tear on his body more so than it wasn’t college so he can’t be hurt but Memphis also had everybody hurt last year so they’re probably being extra cautious with injuries so I want to Circle back a little bit to the marketing conversation August 6th is a big date to look at kind of walk us through why that date is so important yeah so August 6 is three years since he signed his deal with Cleveland in the sign and trade from Chicago if I remember the dates exactly so August 6th though we do know is the date so that’s when he can sign his contract extension he doesn’t have to sign it then and it’s really kind of an interesting situation because once you sign a deal you then can’t get traded for six months after you sign your contract by the team that signed you so the Jazz couldn’t trade Lowry Markin until February 6th which coincidentally is the trade deadline well just because you can sign him August 6 also doesn’t mean Lowry has to sign it that day if he just waits till the 7eventh the Jazz can’t sign him all year now I actually don’t I think that’s getting played up a little bit too much by the media like if the Jazz signed Lowry marinin they’re not trading him in season I I just you don’t trade max players in season hardly at all you don’t see that very often you get to the off season you have time you get a bidding war everyone recognizes oh only this team won the title so we could all get better let’s take a step back and you don’t have teams like La last year the Clippers who got this weird hot streak in January and decided not to do much at the trade deadline you get everyone involved so that’s why you don’t make those trades in season so I don’t think that’s a huge deal but it is a little revealing if the Jazz are like you’ve got to sign on the six we get this deal done so maybe they could trade him in in the season but I think the Jazz like Lowry I think they want to sign him and I think they want to keep him yeah I they want to give him a $15 million raise next year so he makes 33 million and then they can pay him the Max and that’s just the plan let’s go I couldn’t agree more Ben you’re the best man we appreciate it thanks for your Insight as always yep thanks guys see you soon by Ben there he is Ben Anderson NBA and Jazz Insider for KSL sports.com and you hear him with Jake Scott every day from 10 to 12 all right Bryce Merill hanging out with us head coach the man who runs the show for the Salt Lake shred uh huge game against the seatt ble Cascades coming up on Friday uh regular season finale you win this game you get the hold on to that home field advantage a lot on the line but I mean we talked to you last year and you guys were leading the way you know this year you’re you’re killing it again this year I mean you you allow yourself a chance to look back on what you’ve built here with this roster and the success you’ve had and enjoy it a little bit I think that’s what makes uh this team so much fun you look at the greater Utah frisbee Community our high school teams are nationally competitive our college teams are nationally competitive our women’s pro team uh the Utah wild they went to their Championship weekend this year and so I think that bodess well not just for uh the present but for the future as well there’s just so much uh sense of community around the sport here and there’s just a lot of talent at each of these levels and that makes our job uh really easy we’re able to recruit locally and and really try to develop a program where do you recruit typically where do you get your most of your players from what league or or what areas mostly from college and so as they’re able to play in college uh you know BYU was a Powerhouse for a number of years Utah is probably the top programmer Utah State you know those guys are sort of neck and neck as the top program in the state right now uh but there’s a rich tradition of college ultimate here in the state and we’re able to you know incorporate them or you know really watch them closely we even have a couple of current college players on our roster and just bring them right over to the team so your average age is in the 20 23 to 25 Mark yeah are uh at least for the starters you know we have a couple of guys that are in their 30s but you know like a lot of other professional leagues they’re definitely the moving towards the veteran presence or limited playing time with a couple of exceptions but a lot of our guys yeah that 25 to 30 is the prime playing age is there a premium that’s put on height length weight you speed it’s all Speed height height is good a couple of times a game speed is good every time every game and so we we look for guys that come with a lot of hip fluidity from these other sports or you know they’re able to play defense on that big of a field with that much space um and they’re the explosive Playmakers uh and we really need them out there on the us what position group would translate the I mean you you could go with the obvious and receiver but translate from football to Ultimate free frisbee oh if we had if we had a a line of seven linebackers we’d be sitting pretty linebackers yeah just their ability to move left to right we have a couple of guys that played some secondary you know just guys that are able to move and understand the space and time they’re the ones that can make a difference defensively for us and uh conversely they’re the ones that are most difficult to get open against and so you know it makes that Big Field feel small when someone can run with you in so many different directions is this common I mean is this what every team looks for or is this a style that’s kind of unique for what you want uh I think we’re we’re trying to copy some of the best in the league as well you know so these other top teams are definitely pulling these really great athletes you know sometimes soccer athletes but a lot of great basketball players or a lot of great football players uh they make great frisbee players too yeah well I tell you what 7 o’clock Friday July 19th get there zans Bank Stadium Salt Lake shred Seattle Cascades all kinds of great ticket uh packages available for you online at Salt Lake sh .c that’s a lot of stories hand so let’s get to it Lloyd fire up that will jacobe Jones was a beast jacobe Jones was unbelievable in that Super Bowl one of the highest totals in Super Bowl history in fact the highest total in Super Bowl history 290 total yards gained in a Super Bowl and that stands as the most in a single Super Bowl ever that includes the 100 what was 108 yard return yep kickoff return longest in post NFL postseason history was 108 yards Deep In The End Zone and he comes out of that thing with a touchdown and then he had that big bomb from Joe flacko well jacobe Jones has passed away the age of 40 just 40 years old and he’s gone unbelievable um you know you get verbiage in different releases and you’re like well what does that mean passed away peacefully at his home in nor Orleans what does that mean and why are we losing so many athletes we are they are passing it an extremely high rate yeah and we’re not getting explanation on a 60 70% of them and you know we’re not owed that we’re not owed that but it would be nice to know yeah and yeah because you know I draw the conclusion of suicide way too often yeah exactly yeah that’s the thing and and if it wasn’t that I don’t want to fix that to exactly it be and then you don’t want to draw any conclusions at all because it’s just it’s unfair to those who have surv revived him yeah and I I just look at a guy like jacobe Jones man had to have had Millions beautiful home in Orleans certainly would hope so yeah only 40 40 yeah he’s just just a young man still trying to get going in this world and a Super Bowl Legend and there is no signs of disease or illness sickness that took him down and I’m just like how does a guy like this go yeah I mean hell he’s one of my heroes I I remember that 49ers Raven Super Bowl like it was yesterday well and remember they don’t even get to that Super Bowl if he doesn’t catch that bomb from Flo against the Broncos that’s right Denver had gone down scored Denver had gone down and scored a late touchdown and uh seemingly had the game put away all they had to do and they had a horrible safety I forget the guy’s name he he gave himself the nickname the dream but just horribly played that ball horribly and gave up that touchdown jacobe goes into the end zone scores and then Baltimore ends up winning in overtime but just I remember watching that game and just throwing all kinds of stuff against the wall 40 years old he’s gone all right Lloyd spin it not a great look for TD oh Terrell Davis who says I don’t pick on my own guys Lloyd trell Davis had a in situation on a flight uh where he was arrested now here’s his side of it you ready he went into great detail on his Instagram so you tell me what what you believe here said I am still in shock over the traumatizing events that occurred Saturday morning above uh aboard a United flight from Denver to ore County with my wife two sons and daughters during the beverage service my son politely requested a cup of ice the flight attendant either didn’t hear or ignore ignored his request and continued past our row I calmly reached behind me and lightly tapped his arm to get his attention to again ask for a cup of ice for my son his response in the events followed us should stun all of us said he shouted don’t hit me and left the cart to hurly approach the front of the plane I was confused as were the passengers in front who witnessed The Exchange I thought nothing of it other than this employee was incredibly rude and blatantly wrong in his accusation of me hitting him I did not see her interact with him further for the duration of the flight as we landed in Orange County the pilot then asked all passengers to remain seated six FBI and law enforcement agents boarded the plane the FBI agents and local authorities proceeded directly to my seat immediately placed me in handcuffs while seated and without any explanation from my wife and children while the entire flight of passengers watched in silence I was then removed from the flight while being recorded by multiple passengers as I was paraded off the plane in handcuffs by the off this is wild I was and remain humiliated embarrassed powerless and angry during questioning it was rightfully determined by the agents that this flight attendant was inaccurate in his accusations and the Agents profusely apologized even offering to support me and my family in any way possible I’ve yet to hear anything from United Airlines the traumatizing experience of my two sons my daughter and my wife watching me placed in handcuffs without due process or any explanation could not be undone at this very moment not even 48 hours later we as a family are having to have hard conversations with each other about what transpired and the questions my children have I refuse to stand by without speaking out on this disgusting display of Injustice and depl deplorable treatment by United Airlines wow my legal team at Star Gold Greco and Hensley will be in contact with United Airlines I demand a thorough and proper investigation into this flight attendant who blatantly lied and placed undue harm on me and my family more like a mile high dispute I will I will say that this okay I’ve not been arrested on a plane but there was a moment where I uh a flight attendant was walking by and I was trying to get their attention and I did reach back and I and I same thing I I don’t I didn’t think I made any major contact but I just kind of touched their arm and said excuse me and boy apparently there must be some rule about not touching flight attendants because she whipped around she goes sir you lay your hands off of me right now and I’m like whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa I’m I’m sorry I just was trying to get your attention I just wanted to throw away my bottle of water here and she boy she fired back on me real quick so that’s happened to like now granted that it ended there I didn’t get escorted off the plane but some of these flight attendants boy you you got to be careful about laying a finger on them because you can get in trouble real quick well TR Davis has a pretty clean history yeah TD’s never done anything wrong I mean there’s know there was one incident at a Tropicana bar back in 2005 where says he suffered a bruised neck and damaged to a surgically repaired hip in a scuffle where he was assaulted by two bouncers during a party oh yeah yeah and uh he actually sued an insurance company for a breach contract because they refused to defend him in a lawsuit and um he reached a settlement in that one but but he doesn’t have a it’s not there’s no reason not to believe him in this yeah but here’s the deal you’re going to have eyewitnesses there’s people that are there they they’re going to see it and if he touched that individual harder than he should have yeah and apparently everybody’s got his back and he was not arrested he was escorted off the plane of handcuffs but no charges have been fired they’ve been dropped and uh or I mean nothing’s been that they essentially let him go and said yeah you’re right the flight attendant according to him they said the flight attendant was in the wrong well then who’s coupable here is it the flight attendant or is it United Airlines like who’s who’s standing in the cross always blame them here’s the thing the flight attendant flight attendant’s probably got $15 to his name he’s going after United he he’s like all right one of your employees could you imagine being train like oh yeah in front of your wife and kids and especially you’re a public figure too so everybody’s got a cell phone camera as he’s mentions everybody’s vide taping hey that’s trell Davis that’s a Hall of Famer being arrested and escorted off the plane I would be out of my mind if it was all based off of me touching the arm as long as I didn’t do anything yeah I would get hauled off I would allow them to haul me off I wouldn’t I don’t think I would cause a scene hey have you never heard kood you heard of koodi who keep your hands to yourself koodi that’s what they teach young kids K that’s cool it’s called Kai foodi keep hands to keep your Kai foodie keep your hands wait a minute and feet yourself hands and feet to the to yourself koodi yes he should probably keep his hands to himself yeah but you know what just if he’s like hey uh can we get a cup of ice hey excuse me get a cup of ice if somebody takes offense to that man get him out of the the service industry yeah that there’s no way that person should be a flight FL attendant no nope you get bumped all the time I’ll tell you what I get flight attendants bump my shoulders with their hips oh yeah and they freaking run your foot over with the cart they don’t care bang your knees all kinds of stuff they don’t care about that all right hands and Scotty 975 the DSL Sports Zone we’ll wrap up this bad boy next get you ready for JJ and Alex Straight Ahead 975 the inevitable that game on November 9th is going to be bigger than it’s ever been no matter what BYU’s situation is no matter what Utah situation is because they’re going to be playing in the Big 12 in a power four conference on a national stage that that’s this rivalry’s never had this kind of attention before and I’m hoping and I feel pretty confident that that that game’s going to Happ a lot of meaning one way or the other catch JJ and Alex afternoons from 3 to 6 presented by G2G bars on 975 the KSL Sports Zone miss any part of the show every moment of every show is available in podcast form yeah driving to larmy the worst I still can’t believe that BYU signing up for games at laramy and they just took a one at a Colorado State who was it that they just did the home in color St yeah that one makes sense a little bit because you know it’s metropolis and you can recruit out of Colorado a little bit the wiing one just doesn’t make any sense to me just doesn’t yeah but it doesn’t make any sense to me if you’re going to do those two just do Utah State go to Logan go play Utah State oh look can we just please make that happen yeah but I miss the cougs and the EGS I do too I do too that was some good oldtime football yep all right well back with you tomorrow should be a fun show coming up on tomorrow hands in Scotty 975 the KSL Sports Zone boy we got a big one today July 19th is where you need to be zans Bank Stadium the Salt Lake shred take on the Seattle Cascades the head coach joining us once again Bryce Merill how you doing man hey coach happy to be here how are yall doing oh we missed you we’re glad to be back yeah what’s new uh still playing frisbee uh that means we’re uh qualified for the playoffs so I think it’s a good spot to be that we still have a lot more frisbee ahead of us so uh let’s talk about this showdown coming up on the 19th against uh Seattle what have we seeing out of these guys you know uh I think when we saw our schedule a couple of months ago I don’t think we were anticipating the you know us in Seattle being the top two teams in the west and so to get a a really nice Crescendo here at the end of the season and a chance to uh essentially play for first place in the west uh winner of this game Friday night uh gets that regular season title gets a A Buy in the playoff I mean a lot on the line for us and we’re really excited about it well we want to pack this thing in that’s it’s coming up this Friday it’s a 7 o’clock throw and you can be out there and what I love coach you’ve put together ticket packages to make it affordable for you know seven and under you get in free as students uh you made it as affordable as you can for families to come out and support this playoff push yeah I think that’s uh you know we love the game on the field we also love the environment in the stadium Zion Bank Stadium is just beautiful on a Friday night a lot of fun and yeah you’re able to find something that works for you it’s a an affordable family activity to come out even if you’re not familiar with the sport definitely something it’s the game’s easy to understand and you can come on out and check it out in person well the one thing too that I think you’ve emphasized in your numerous spots here if you don’t know the sport that’s all right you show up and you’re going to figure it out real quick you know if you’ve seen basketball or soccer football if you’ve seen something you’ll you’ll watch two points and you’ll you’ll catch the basic flow pretty quick so we love that not a lot of complicated rules just a lot of fast action a lot of scoring and uh it it’s fun well I kind of take it upon ourselves every time we have you on to help people understand exactly what this is kind of walk them through the game they’re going to come watch this Friday yeah great um so it’s a it’s a seven on seven field sport it’s non- cont sort of like basketball you know very physical but it’s a non contact non- tackling sport but there’s a lot of contact yeah you’re uh we’re playing uh on a basically a football siiz field and you’re trying to score uh the the disc or the Frisbee in in the end zone for a point and you know a lot of our games you know we’re averaging you know between the two teams 35 40 45 goals a game and so you know it’s it’s a a one minute point and and so you get in there you get a lot of action and then you uh repeat that for for the two hours it’s it’s just it’s fast-paced it’s exciting uh These Guys these athletes they’re fast they can jump um and so just it it it’s very simple to understand if you’ve seen these other sports adult tickets $21 students 15 12 and under or 8 to 12 years old 12 bucks and kids seven under get in free that’s it come on we got to take advantage of this let’s pack that Stadium let’s have some fun we’d love to have that and you want to play we keep playing games there in that Stadium too and if you get a win that means you get the buy and you get the home field advantage and and Championship weekend is here this year so uh we really want to be done traveling for the year and uh let these teams come to us play at altitude play in front of our fans it’s a it’s a great spot for us who is on this team who is our Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce oh a great question you know we we got a couple of guys in Jordan Kerr Grant Lindley uh they are our throwers are Ms you know these guys have you know top level national team experience World Games experience these guys are just you know great athletes and and they’ve been around the game for a lot of years uh we’re we’re a team built on our defense though and so our our goal is to make sure that their o line they Patrick Mahomes don’t uh they’re not able to move the ball well there you go let’s get those tickets purchased watch the uh the best of the best it’s uh going to be a lot of fun the shred and the Seattle Cascades July 19 tickets on sale right now again uh website salt lak Hans is so dumb and uninformed. The Jazz announced, pre-Vegas, that Kessler and Keyonte would not participate in Vegas, but of course Hans asks wHy ArEnT tHeY pLaYiNg?" Dude, I feel so bad the Scott any Ben have to put up with your ignorance on the daily.
