With how Anthony Davis has been playing this olympics, the whole league will take much more notice to how much AD dominates on the defensive end. Based on the past few DPOYs, there is a trend with players winning who don’t have insane offensive packages like Gobert. I believe AD’s offense outshines his defense at times because he is just that good. AD eats on defense against international teams and with the whole world watching when it comes to the DPOY next season everyone will be looking at him a lot more.

No, media will not care whatsoever. He got over the Street Clothes narrative last season but now needs the Lakers at 6th seed or above to be a DPOY candidate.

AD might have to go to the worst team in the nba and carry them to a top 5 defense for him to be considered at this point. So do the impossible.
Until we get a center to play with ad he can be the best defensive player in the league, by far, and our defensive numbers will still be so atrocious nobody will notice or care.

Yesterday was the first and probably only time i will get to see him play, watching him have a 1 man block party was amazing, AD is super underappreciated its crazy.
As long as the Lakers are a mediocre to bad defensive team, AD won’t have a shot at DPOY. And as long as he doesn’t have help in the paint the lakers will be just that.
Doubt it, we should just make peace w the fact that he will likely never win it because we will likely not have a good defensive roster for the foreseeable future
