Luka is awesome Yeah I’ve said it before and I’m not the only one…. Just lose a few kgs and put in some CrossFit dance balance lateral move work (or whatever the experts advise). Luka looked like quickSilver in 2021 in those playoffs. If he’s better at defence…. They won’t bother attacking his defence as much. Plus knees won’t be under such pressure as the few kgs will help take the pressure off. I feel there is a little bit of talent that’s not been used and I think that’s a frustrating thing for us mere mortals to witness. I’m in my 50s and if I was talking to myself and I haven’t got any talent but if I did…. I’d like someone to say to me just make the absolute most of your fitness in your 20s and in your 30s go party like it’s 1999!!! It’s pretty hard to get out of the West and I don’t know how many chances the Mavericks will get to win the play-offs?
The new intro is pretty good for the offseason, I freestyle to it when it comes on. Not good enough for the season though!

I might be wrong but how about starting Grimes/Marshall (PoA defender) instead of PJ? I think Luka can defend the 4 position, if the 4 is not the best offensive player on the opposing team. I think the combination of Luka, Kyrie, Klay and DLive can outscore any starting unit. Then the second unit will be better defensively than the opposing team's second unit.

Is it me, or was Derrick Jones “answer” as to why he left the Mavs hard to follow?
Pascal Siakam when he got drafted wasn't really expected to be a good player let alone a star so I don't think the comparisons are that far-fetched when you compare them at the same point in their careers.
During the draft process, both players have a willingness to drive and finish well at the basket and are versatile defenders and have similar physical measurements.
The key difference is that Pascal was used mostly as a big and more paint oriented on offence and was used more as a help defender on defense. Meanwhile, Omax played as a wing and was more perimeter oriented as a spot up shooter on offense and was used more as POA on defense.
I think OMax has the potential to have a similar career to Siakam, but alot of developing, time, and work would have to be put in. So as of now its just a matter of Mavs believing in OMax and if they are willing to wait. I think he'll crack the rotation tis season but he'll contribute heavy minutes by year 3.
Klay should play the THJ role, always two on the court of Luka, Kai and Klay
And maybe close some games all three
33-30 mins for Luka and Kai
20-25 for Klay
All guards minutes
Hardy and Exum can play a few at guard
Naji and Quentin all the small wings minutes, except closing in Klay is hot
Lively becoming a shooting big is how we take the next step

I’ve been saying this let’s not handcuff ourselves to guys like omax maxi and etc. you can’t stop trying to make moves. One thing we continued to struggle with is scoring when kyrie or Luka isn’t on the floor. We would see the mavericks literally not score a basket for 3/4 minutes. With that being said if we can get a solid 15ppg scorer, I think we can give this off season an A+ .
Nick, I’m cool with business Ops creating consistency between every channel, but you should hold that music for Mavs wins and play it after the new intro music. Somehow mix that music into the stream, people will be happy just to hear it.

No, but he figured it out during the season and playoffs.

Last year’s summer league team was an anomaly by going 4-1. They lost their first game to OKC at full strength and were down big against Philly before a comeback victory so that might be why it seems like we never win. I definitely picked the right time to visit summer league last year.

Luka has been pro for so long I doubt he’ll play many more years he’s going to get rings and get out I think maybe 12-13 year nba career.

First off I love D Live, both as a player and person.
Ceiling is way down the road. But he does need to improve to reach the heights I think he can reach. No doubt he will work on his weaknesses.
In my mind, he has to improve his offensive skill set. He needs to score on something other than catching a lob and slamming it down. He doesn't need to shoot the 3, but if could shoot from the elbow in he would be unstoppable.
Lively, Gaff and PJ restored my faith in being a Mavs fan last season. Luka is so hard to root for but those guys are all humble, hard working and an absolute joy to watch and cheer for. If we can find a second star under 30 within the next 2 seasons this team can contend for a solid decade.

all I wanted from Summer League was to see whether OMax can be a lengthy strong wing that can stick with guards. That's the role he'd get with our backcourt most of the time. Instead they're putting AJ Lawson on them and instead of him on Collier, Pippen Jr. or Isaiah Stevens I'm watching him guard Taylor hendricks sitting in the corner.
Can Luka be ready for the playoffs? Dude had three injuries all but one he sustained IN SAID PLAYOFFS and still he didn’t miss a game and did something NOBODY had ever done. People act like Luka lost in the first round because he was hurt or something. Yeah we want him to look leaner but we all know he’s an elite athlete, the best angles and brakes in the NBA.

The more I watch of Grimes the more excited I get. All 3 additions not only bring a different level of skill they are fierce competitors. This team is gonna be TOUGH as nails mentally.

Yeah, no playmaking guards at all. Of course there’s that two time slam dunk championship guy who averaged 26/5/7 on 50/40/84 splits in the G-League. I totally understand why he would be of no interest to a Mavericks team that’s shown such a great promise in their summer league prospects. I’m expecting at least three of these guys to compete for rookie of the year….🙄
PJ, Ky, and Klay as the POA defender for the first 5 minutes is not going to cost the Mavs the game… Getting Klay on a hot streak early so Luka & Ky don't have to constantly play 40+ minutes, possibly sitting 4th quarters, will be a HUGE improvement during the regular season AND help keep them more rested for the postseason.
Luka needs to look at his carrier to last for the next ten years, so maintaining his health should become a part of his approach to how he plays. The Maverick's and Luka should put a lot more motion around the parameter to open up three-point shots for Luka, Kyrie, Klay, PJ, Naji, Quentin, Maxie, Exem, and Hardy. The offenses need to reduce the number of bulldozer like drives that Luka does. The pick and rolls with the two centers need to stay a major part of the offense for both Luka, Kyrie, and Klay. The Mavericks need to start playing each season as 100 games very deep playoffs runs. The starters need to play fewer minutes each and the bench will be deeper and should be playing more minutes. The only question is who will be the third best ballhandler guard?
