[Russo] “It’s unfair. It’s not right,” Steve Ballmer says about the regular t-shirt toss you see at NBA games. So what did the Clippers do? They put t-shirt cannons on the Halo Board that can apparently hit every seat in the arena so no one is left out. No, I’m not kidding!

Tangentially related but at the last clipper game I went to, they launched chik fil a stuffed cows from the ceiling and I caught one lol. Balmer really fucks with giving out free shit and I respect it

  2. abonet619

This is pretty cool. I wish all owners gave a fuck as much as Steve Ballmer does.

  3. Agile-Competition679

Love this idea. Clippers fans really got lucky with Balmer, especially after that awful Sterling family.

  4. JimmyV34

I can tell some people never been to nba game before but the idea is nosebleed seats can be able to get a shirt

  5. Classics22

Love the way theyre going about games

  6. MostlyMellow123

Robots taking jobs. First kawhi gets to play and now this.

  7. nekoken04

At least Ballmer seems to give a F. I have to give him his props for this great idea.

  8. Hey you know what, good for Ballmer. Dude is thinking about enhancing the fan experience, which not a lot of owners do.

  9. ripe_data

Basically every playoff team is giving away 18,000+ shirts every home game, and then during the regular season they throw/shoot like fifty into the crowd.

  10. Elkbowy

Balmer seems to really be considering the fans with this new arena it’s really cool to see

  11. Hellcat1970

At staples, they have people go to the nose bleeds and pass out shirts

  12. Magazine_Mediocre

Oh man I love this. It’s on my bucket list to catch one of those shirts. Though I guess in a way this kinda cheapens it if everyone gets one.

Steve ballmer is a good owner . Almost at all the home games . Really rooting for a poverty team . He spends money for the roster and fans .

Wish kawhii got the memo about having to play for the money he’s earned

  14. WordSpiritual1928

Bucks used to drop things from the rafters and it would get the nose bleeds but they stopped. Now just tshirt cannon that only gets the lower bowl

  15. t-_-t586

The sixers used to drop well made parachutes from the cat walk with keychain lights and what not. Was really cool.

  16. LoL4You

They should put little parachutes on them just to slow the fall a bit. I bet those T shirts can still hurt if they make it to the lower seats.

Don’t the Cs do it that way?

  17. firstbreathOOC

Pretty cool but this quote smells like fresh pasta to me

  18. komark-

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen like super powered t shirt cannons launched from the sidelines at college football games make their way to the nosebleeds. But this is neat too

  19. jigglyanimeboobies

I barely hear any other team owner in the news for positive shit like this, that’s why i’ll always respect Ballmer. I wouldn’t even think about shit like this, i’ve been to games and never caught a t shirt so respect to him.

“I don’t like the T-shirt toss. It’s coarse and rough, and it doesn’t get everywhere” – Steve Ballmer, flirting

  21. ourkid1781

Don’t most arenas just have extra people with t-shirt cannons in the upper deck?

  22. Beginning-Sundae8760

What if they go manic like the robots at Itchy & Scratchy Land?

  23. Cbone06

Ballmer truly gets it from a fan perspective, this what the gold standard of an owner is folks.

A guy who’s dedicated to giving back to the community, backing a ton of community initiatives, not cheating out on payroll, fronting the costs for a new stadium, creating legit fan zones, and creating opportunities for people all over the arena regardless of economic level.

Anyone who has sat in the nosebleeds can write off any of the giveaways that happen mid-game, this is a great change that helps people who got to the game who aren’t necessarily affluent.

  24. TheMias24

Love to see Balmer really care about the fans

  25. KevinDurantLebronnin

“It’s unfair. It’s not right,” Steve Ballmer says about the cup holders between seats you see at NBA games. So what did the Clippers do? They put two cupholders on every seat so no one is left out. No, I’m not kidding!

  26. Hulk_Crowgan

How long b4 someone falls out of the nosebleeds, diving for a free tshirt only to break their neck like Owen Heart

  27. Inevitable-Bass2749

This stadium in general is wild but I can’t imagine what a playoff atmosphere is about to be like in that place

  28. HipnotiK1

Went to 2 different Knicks games and could have got a shirt but didn’t. 1st time my coworker snatched it like a DB interception. Think end of Seahawks pats Superbowl. 2nd time I went to the bathroom and when I came back the guy next to me had caught a shirt that I had a chance at.

    Just not meant to be.

  29. FrigOffRicky16

As someone with a kid who can only afford upper bowl seats that is amazing and needs to be implemented in every arena

  30. Odd-Mathematician233

Someone is gonna reach out for a shirt and fall to the 100 levels

  31. Carolake1

Ballmer: I won’t pay for a good team, but here is a very, very small increase in your chance at getting a $5 t-shirt.

r/NBA: OMG ballmer is so great! What a great owner!!
