2021 Bucks Finals Journey:
Long time Bucks fan, supporting through the poverty years attending games at BMO for a few dollars a game.
I was on vacation during the ECF down in Puerto Vallarta, MX. Every game day I’d find a brewery/pub/bar where I can watch the Bucks play the Hawks. I told my lady if we beat the Hawks we are going straight from vacation to Phoenix to follow the Bucks the rest of the way. I had a feeling we would go all the way if we got to the Finals.
We attended game 1 and the Bucks lost 118-105, but we were there in enemy territory to carry the Bucks loud and proud, no regrets.
Game 2 we ended up watching at a sports bar because it was extremely expensive as PHX had won the previous game so their fans were coming out in droves. I was cool with it as it gave me time to plot attending the rest of the games. I’ll never forget we went down 2-0 losing 118-108 in game 2, hearing the “SUNS IN 4!” chants gaining traction and their fans believing they would work the Bucks easily. Man I was livid! Little did I know we would get the last most satisfactory laugh on them band wagoners.
Booked flights to Milwaukee and said I’m fucking YOLOING the rest of the way if it’s not now it’s never. Attended games 3 & 4 & 6 at the Fiserv in MKE and it was one of the greatest experiences of my life. That adrenaline and natural high of having 100% belief we would come back and it happening I can’t replicate.
We watched game 5 at the then Loaded Slate right next to the stadium and it was an insane crowd that day. People were standing on the bar on the tables on the chairs we were going crazy every play every second of that Game 5. The rest is history.
Glad I went all out as it may never happen again, but 🍻 to all the Bucks faithful like us who are hoping we get another shot at it!
