Jd has too many turnovers and has been around for a few years. He can maybe guard one position.
Walsh and Davidson were both second round picks. So expecting a lot from them is foolish. With that said, Stevens should have picked GG Jackson instead of Walsh. But why would you want a play that can put up 30 points against NBA talent?
Granted I have only watched the Miami, Laker and Charlotte games but in those three, all very competitive games, Here’s been my problem with Walsh: he just hasn’t stood out in any game. Queda, Springer, and Scheirman are all guys that will be on the Celtic roster and have had not only big moments in every game where they stood out on the floor but consistency at both ends of it too. There’s just too many times during a game where he seems to disappear entirely from the floor and that’s troublesome. Even non-rotation guys like Ramsey and House took the game from the Hornets and stood out down the stretch of that game.
Shooting badly is one thing – whatever, it will come – but not having an impact at all? Yikes.
Walsh heard you talking he’s got 18 pts, 7 rebounds, 2 ast, 2 blk on 53% shooting
I think Baylor will develop his shooting, but I believe Jordan Walsh will become a liability on both offense and defense. I am a little disappointed with Walsh because of his laziness.
Worried? Davidson and Walsh not "performing up to expectations" is like saying that the Celtics water-boys haven't kept the water cold enough Neither of these guys played even ONE single meaningful minute during our championship season. Besides the starting 5, guys coming off the bench are: Horford, Hauser, Pritchard, Kornet, and then, if we are winning by 25 or more in the 4th Qtr, we have Brissett, Tillman, and Queta. (and we can throw new draft picks Sheierman and Watson into that mix) That's really it. Since we have brought back our entire team from last year, nothing has changed and nothing needs to change. If Davidson and Walsh were absolutely KILLING it, shooting 48% from three or whatever, they might force themselves into the lineup a bit more. Anything besides that, and they basically never see the floor. At their best, they beat out Sheierman and Watson for playing time, but even that would be a tall order. If they are not doing great, they will just have to go rebuild their resume at the G league.
I don't expect anything from 2nd rounders
JD isnt just going to breakthrough here. he needs to be on a team with lesser guard depth. here he's just good for running maine.
The shine on walsh has worn off. he's just potential now due to his measurables. low BBIQ, sloppy passes, boneheaded TOVs, shooting has regressed, inconsistent effort on the glass and not showing the same fire he showed last year. good thing is he's still young and on a long-term deal. if he hasn't developed in 2Y then i'd trade him/let him walk. its hard for 2nd RD picks to pan out anyway. same applies to JD next offseason.
at the end of the day, these were simply misses on brad's part. the draft is a crapshoot once you get into the 2nd rd. hopefully baylor and anton pan out/develop faster.
