NBA teams are far more competitive compared to those in Olympics and lakers team is less competitive than team USA. Also NBA season is long and you have to win 4 games to win a series. So AD and LeBron cannot replicate what they are doing on team USA in the Lakers uniform.

The dude is so tired by the time an NBA game ends he has no chance of doing what he does in team USA. He benefits more than anyone from this type of team around him. He's not a number 1 anymore, but he can play like one for 10 minutes a game, which is what team USA needs
