That’s a bummer. This dude has to be seriously broke.

there are enough active members here that if we all contribute one dollar each, we can easily win the auction. then, once we have it, it will be ours to have and then the fun really starts.

Do what the Simpsons did with Radioactive Man comic book #1

I guess something is only valuable for so long before it becomes borderline worthless, whether he needs money or not.

I got about 3 fiddy. And I know most of this sub has about 3 fiddy. If we all pool our money, we could buy it and share it. Each person gets 2 days going in order of geographic proximity (west to east) to one another.

It’s crazy the amount of people here calling it a chunk of metal. It’s a gold medal lol not something a lot of people have.

LMAO, I love that the immediate reaction by some people is “he’s broke”. He probably made as much money off the Dream Team licensing deals than he made during his entire career

Come on fertitta pony up and buy it and give it back to Clyde. That way he can sell it again and have $500 instead of of $250k. Love the glide.

great athlete but when he played they didn’t make the same amount as they do now. sad that he is having financially trouble.

This article claims Drexler wasn’t exactly happy while on the team. Apparently he was the last pro player picked (over Isiah Thomas) and before they selected Christian Laettner. I could see why he would have a chip on his shoulder about it. Drexler was an NBA First Team in 92, second team in 88 and 91, and third team in 90, and he’s the last pro player selected? At that point Barkley, Robinson, Ewing, Malone, Stockton, and Mullins hadn’t been to a finals, but Drexler had been in 90 and 92.

“Occasionally, certain individuals tried to do too much,” Pippen wrote in his book. “The person who comes to mind is Clyde Drexler. Clyde, still hurting from losing to the Bulls in the Finals, was out to prove he belonged on the same level as Michael. As if the six games the teams had just played hadn’t proven the exact opposite.

“Here is what someone should have told him: ‘Clyde, you should feel fortunate. You are one of the best basketball players in the world. You’re just not Michael Jordan and that’s no crime. No one is.’

“His energy was terrible. He always had his head down and acted as if Michael and I were his adversaries, not his teammates. Clyde didn’t fit in with the whole team, and it was a shame.”

Clyde made about 31 million in his career or about as much as Isiah Hartenstein will make next year.
