false. this was way before he was a wizard.

  2. _Blobfish123_

And we complain about jaylen brown not having a left hand

  3. These guys would have straight up died if they saw Kyries handles

In all honesty, it *does* look kinda slick via replay.

That being said, plays like this illustrate the beauty of innovation and how the game evolves over time because of it. I know there’s a certain group who’d use this type of clip to criticize one era while lifting up the present, but the present largely exists as it does *because* of plays like this. Somebody had to cross that threshold and show the way.

Those same critics may not even realize that the current era will be no different. Those who broke the mold this era will be endlessly copied and emulated until future generations look back at our bewilderment over certain plays from the ’10s and wonder why we all treated them as being so spectacular.

I believe this is what the kids these days are calling “glazing on historical levels”

Doing that without cupping at all is impressive. I think if they saw players do what they do today they’d call it Harlem globetrotter entertainment because you can’t do 80% of what players do by the rule book. Obviously the Harlem globetrotters are extremely good at cool stuff but without a doubt they would not applaud modern handles in a game setting

Look at how insane the spacing was back then. Every defender was inside the three point line. It took so damn long for players to actively use that 3 point threat to its full potential (thanks Steph and Harden in their own ways for fully showing its potential.)

Oh, man, I thought this would be when he was on the Wizards, too

  9. OKCDraftPick2028

i know its stupid but they should show this to old people to say jordan has no left hand just to trigger them

  10. jackbob99

That is impressive…But nothing will ever beat his layup against the Nets in 91.

I wish I was alive and saw this in person

  12. alreddy-reddit

Why use two hand when one hand do job?

  13. NaLu_LuNa_FairyPiece

A bunch of Lebron kids in here hating

  14. 2Basketball2Poorious

Clowning on the relative simplicity of the move aside, I can’t believe how slow it all is. Definitely didn’t feel that way watching in the 90s, but I guess I didn’t have a point of comparison.

They really couldn’t believe their eyes lol I was prepared to be blown away

I like how so many Jordan highlights are against Cleveland. What did they ever do to him?

I see this video on Instagram a lot so that nephews can make fun of this era, which is dumb. It’s like making fun of Bill Gates because he created Windows instead of a smart phone.

  18. Why are we suddenly getting an influx of MJ posts. He’s done nothing in 30 years

  19. MrAppleSpoink

That’s just flat out not that impressive, and that’s not to say Jordan wasn’t capable of truly impressive stuff, it’s honestly more just puzzling why this clip of all clips is being posted? He’s got a million moves better than this.

  20. beastwork

well gee golly and gosh darn. Wow! NBA basketball, gotta love it

  21. Niner-Sixer-Gator

I miss watching that man play 😔

  22. IllRefrigerator560

Stuff like this is why it’s difficult today to judge MJ’s impact on basketball via youtube. What he did then feels normal today, but back in the 80s/90s, it was out of this world.

In that same light, it’s pointless to say “so he isn’t as great because he didn’t face today’s competition” when he himself played such a significant role in today’s competition being as good as it is. The era after him, the Lebron’s, Wade’s, Melo’s, Kobe’s, Iverson’s etc. all grew up watching and imitating him.
