I get it, Edwards was a key cog in bringing the wolves to the WCF. Tatum has a ring, even though he only shot 37% in the finals and his teammate was the better player. And KD has rings after joining the greatest team in NBA history (72-10) after abandoning the Thunder after they choked a 3-1 series lead against that same team.

Joel needs to get out of the second round. Averaging 35, 12, and 6 isn’t enough in the eyes of a casual fan. He needs to be healthy for 1 playoff run and dominate like we all know we can. Only then will the narrative change.

Their panties will continue to bunch about the guy… until he might possibly wind up in their team

Ant is very very obviously the worst of these players.

Meanwhile, he’s on the top of all theirs lists for “player they’d like to team up with”

I’m confused, are these the four options they came up with for the best player in the NBA? Or is this a team USA thing

It’s crazy to me that the official NBA on ESPN channel asking this. I could see if it was some random hoops youtuber but one of the league’s primary broadcasting partners? And people wonder why the NBA discourse is so bad compared to other leagues.

I swear no other sport has espn actively encouraging its fans to shit on their players lmao. there’s no way this is the official ESPN account farming hate engagement

There’s a reason why voting used to be limited to the educated…people are quite stupid

It’s deserved. Bro hasn’t been healthy for a playoff series in a while, he and tyrese maxey were the reason they couldn’t advance to play the heat the year before with harden. They both just needed to step up for 3 games and couldn’t even do that. That would have been there best chance to win it all, plus better match up against Denver than heat would have been.

Stealing this from someone else who pointed this out on Twitter (I forget who), but it’s gotten to the point where there is no normal way to talk about Joel Embiid any more — or at least not right now.

The way a lot of people feel about him as far as being part of the Olympics (aside from racist fucks, who gives a shit about their opinions) is that he basically needs to hit a game winning shot in the gold medal game to be considered good enough by a lot of people.

It’s gotten to this point in part because social media platforms are doing shit like this, specifically. They know Joel gets a lot of hate engagement right now. There were profiles showing whenever he had a turnover in the last game (which they would only do for him), which was objectively his best of the pre-Olympic run.

There’s nothing much I can do but stay away from the social conversations about him.

I mean it could be as simple has he has led his team to nothing.

It’s probably because he can’t get to the playoffs without being injured. Embiid is a an all time great talent but being out with injuries or playing with injuries have totally derailed his career and reduced his value as a player

Bro crying about hate on Embiid is too much. Literally every single day it’s omg they hate Embiid why post
