Everytime this incident is talked about the Warriors look like they just don’t know how to handle Draymond.
But there is video of KD telling Dray to his face that he wasn’t the reason he left.

And Draymond was the one in the parking lot after the Finals calling and begging KD to come to the Warriors.

What a strange, angry, insecure man.

    Great player though

  3. Warriors and sweeping shit under the rug. What else is new lol

People talk about how great a teammate Steph is but whenever the Dubs faced a real crises involving Draymond, situation where they needed a leader to step up and pull them together, Steph seems nowhere to be found.

Everything KD says makes total sense logically. I appreciate how forthright KD tends to be a lot. You don’t get candidness without pretentiousness from professional athletes often.

I don’t think KD left solely because of Dray, I think it was confirmation that it wasn’t a long term destination for him, more confirmation than he’d already had. That was the final nail in the coffin. But I don’t think it was the singular reason.

The Dubs won the chip in ’22 and their legacy is stamped. Draymond’s is stamped. But what’s also become clear, is that what the Warriors publicize re: their culture and their image and what’s truly going on behind the scenes are not in alignment and haven’t been for years. Now that’s more public than ever and people are realizing and recognizing this thing has been a shit show for a little bit behind the scenes. Honestly it really crystalizes for me just how good Steph really is as a player more than anything.

Kerr’s leadership can be questioned but you can’t question the coaching. You don’t win at the level the Dubs have without excellent coaching. But the leadership one can say has been lacking. From Kerr on down. Can say it finally caught up with them last year.

  6. KD didn’t leave because of the Draymond incident. Going into the 2018-19 season, there was probably a 90% chance KD was leaving. The Draymond incident just made it 100%, but he basically had one foot out the door already.

  7. It really is such a net positive that the players have the ability to create their own platforms to be able to address these kinds of questions or issues, without us having to hear about rumors from some “analyst”.

  8. dgoat_19

This is true because the Warriors literally traded Jordan Poole just to avoid confronting Draymond and his actions

Couldn’t hit the house in the kitchen 😭 I’m adding that

I still to this day don’t understand why people try to defend Draymond. Just because you’re the voice or the enforcer of the team, it does not mean you should be allowed to be an asshole.
Whether it’s being an asshole to teammates or just outright assaulting them, I don’t understand why he’s never been held accountable for his actions.

Draymond was just embarrassed and butt hurt that he made the obviously wrong play and everyone knew it

  12. PhantomPain85

KD has had multiple comments on the incident . He first said it wasn’t a big deal after that game. Then he Moreso blamed management and their response in the interview with Draymond a few years ago. Now, he’s being open about it more. Guy just needs to stop being passive aggressive and just talk from the heart.

The dynasty’s downfall but damn Draymond ruin the golden state dynasty single-handed with his antics. KD departure, JP punch. Say what you want about JP he was good in Golden State.

It’s wild to me how hardcore that organization has tried to protect a really shitty person in Draymond Green.

Dude is responsible for costing them several championships if you think about it, between the Cavs series suspension and scaring KD off.

I just… I don’t get it. How can anyone respect a man who’s go to strategy on the court is to yell and scream, punch and kick people in the nuts, stomp on their chest, try to murder his own teammate because the guy said something mean (boo hoo).. play dirty in general.

That’s not a good person. I don’t care how he is off the court.

  15. UhIGuessThatsCool

It’s kinda crazy that they never really talked about it lol. You would think SOMEONE on the staff or one of the vets would start a dialogue. Sounds like the typical Kerr approach of ignoring Draymond’s outrageous behavior

  16. Realhtown

So KD couldn’t stand up for himself or approach Draymond (in that moment or privately) about disrespecting him?

Draymond violated him in one moment and his reaction was to isolate from the team rest of season.

  17. albinosnowman6

i think KD joined because he wanted to find that basketball family and this moment really made him realize he would never truely accepted by the organization.

  18. FlyLikeATachyon

Why are people still talking to Stephen Jackson

  19. WuTangDre710

Bruh would buy them Gucci sweats lmao

  20. breighvehart

That warriors documentary gonna be crazy

  21. boulong

Anyone got a link to the original video/podcast that KD is speaking in?

  22. realfakejames

Kerr, Curry and the Warriors have always swept everything Draymond does under the rug, that’s why he’s always kept doing it, zero accountability for a team that’s supposed to have “leadership”

He ruined things with KD, he ruined things with Jordan Poole, he gets suspended and thrown out of games for his crazy shit on the court, and not once has Kerr or Steph gone to him and said “if you want to be on this team that can’t happen again” and you know they haven’t because it kept happening

Imagine being KD and a guy you consider a good friend is coming at you like that over a basketball play where he fucked up to begin with lmao Draymond is actually so stupid

I personally will never give any shits out to a complaining millionaire. And that’s just me. Athlete Actor Director. Entrepreneur. I don’t have any shits for things that small. Getting yelled at by another millionaire. I have to FIND a list because that complaint is too small for the lists of shits I do care about.

  24. No_Gas_2755

Dang, the more I go through life the more I believe in the butterfly effect. One small 2 pt play set off a chain of events that changed a whole chapter in NBA history. Craziness!

  25. KayRay1994

That’s an anime villain origin story if i’ve ever seen one

  26. External-Technology5

Nah green want to the money, he aren’t getting paid more if KD was on the team

  27. Ozymandias2190

It might be small time relative to the Draymond incident, but I think the little subtle joke at the 2017 championship parade from Joe Lacob really cracked the foundation of the newly formed GSW Dynasty…

From a piece from “The Athletic”:

The interaction, to that point, appeared all in fun, absorbed well by Durant. He knows a max offer is heading his way at 12:01 a.m. on July 1, no questions asked. But then Fitzgerald mentioned Steph Curry getting every dollar of his mega max last July and Myers extended the joke … to a cringeworthy level.

“That was different,” Myers said of Curry. “He’s been here from the way before days. He’s earned it.”

I don’t know how to format shit on my phone. Deal with it.
