  1. Y’all gotta understand melo from the streets. Jalen grew up rich. he don’t care about money like that

  2. PG calling him a “team player” implies that he wouldn’t be a team player if he didn’t leave the money on the table. That’s crazy! Basketball is a business. Everyone has to do what makes sense to them. $100M is 100M DOLLARS!!! Tomorrow isn’t promised. See Isaiah Thomas w/Boston. Opportunities to earn that kind of money are few and far between.

    To each his own. 🤷🏽‍♂️

  3. NY legend? Dudes only been there 2-3 years! If he can be do this for another 3-4 years then he’s a Knicks legend.

  4. Leaving $113 million on the table sets a new standard for elite players that GMs will try to expose when negotiating contracts.

It’s like real estate… a house sells for under market and the next buyer who wants to buy in that neighborhood will try to reference that home sale in order to get a discount every time…

If I’m the president of the players association I’m really upset about that contract. He might be a team player, but he’s definitely not a league player.

Never leave money on the table!

    💪💪💪

  5. Melo: I don’t understand the logic behind it… there has to be something behind it…??? 🤔

    PG8: That’s a team fool! I mean team player! 🥴🥴🥴

    🤣🤣🤣

  6. Carmelo just explained to you why the final years of his career went how they did. He's selfish. That doesn't mean he's a bad person. I liked his game a lot. Im a Knicks fan. But nothing about Melo made me believe he would lead a team to ultimate success. Then, when nobody wanted him, he played the victim… and y'all bought it.

Brunson is playing the long game while maximizing the short-term potential for success. Carmelo was a guy who gutted teams to get what he wanted first. This is why he barely made it out of the first round most of his career

  7. A bad move for labor….management has now seen a precedence that they will look to exploit in the next CBA and individual free agent contract extensions for players moving forward. "Respect from fans and the club" for this move even in a sport of guaranteed contracts, there is NO "getting back in the end" when dealing with $113 million left on the bargaining table especially with the new NBA 11 yr $78 BILLION TV media deal being agreed to. As salaries and caps elevate in the future, no amount of sponsorship deals will recoup that amount of money. Team player or not, a questionable move by the player AND his agent to agree to such a contract….

  8. this is why Carmelo will never be remembered as a top 10 player or mega superstar this dude ruined the New York Knicks when he forced him to trade away all their assets when he wanted that of Denver, had he just waited he could’ve signed as a free agent he also was jealous of the whole Jeremy Lin and insanity movement he’s a selfish player at the end of the day and this is why his career other than winning Olympic medals he’s never achieved a high statuslike his peers did like D Wade or LeBron he was all about selling and that’s why towards the end nobody wanted him and they passed him around

  9. Why does a player need to take a cut? The organization making a cut on the profit??? Are this tickets cheaper? Those jerseys cheaper?? The money from the broadcasting deals cheaper?? Salary cap is bullsiht

  10. The key fact is he had to wait until 2025 to get the extra 100 million. Anything can happen from now until then. So i can see why jalen got his contract signed this year rather than waiting until 2025

  11. Brunson is doing what's best for him. Brunson has a different set of priorities and values than Carmelo. Carmelo Anthony was a bust for the Knicks. He has a low basketball IQ and a low IQ overall. The more he speaks, I cringe. There is a reason the Knicks could not win with Carmelo. Brunson is earning enough to grow his money. If the Knicks win a championship, his investment will be proven to be wise.

  12. If Nova Knicks win it all, that team would be talked about for decades imagine winning a National Championship with your boys then get a chance to win a NBA Championship with them too

  13. No ring melo talking mad loud. They already moved off you in Denver. If Jalen lights up in the playoffs and makes it to or wins a NBA final they'll forget about you in New York too 😂

  14. Crazy these motherfuckers are so out of touch that 100+ million on the contract guaranteed is not enough simply because there’s another hundred on the table. How about just don’t be greedy money only gets you so far. Now he looks like one of the realest mfs in the league plus he gets to play with all of his former college buddies for a longer period of time so win-win for him.

  15. Yeah we know you can't fathom that Melo. That's why you'll be remembered as a ringless bum 💀

  16. He left 113 million on the table? Now, that's just dumb🤦🏿‍♂️…Hell, I wouldn't leave a penny on the table🙅🏿‍♂️, f*** these organizations, Jalen Brunson messed up🤷🏿‍♂️

  17. Don’t understand how people feel bad for athletes who take a pay cut. Dudes are still getting million upon millions of dollars. Ridiculous amounts of money.
