Neither would be starters here imo. Simons is too bad on defense and Grant wouldn’t start over Franz or Paolo. I don’t see a fit after free agency

Neither are coming here. We’ve completed our main roster this next season.

Cole would have to be in the deal and Simon’s would have to come off the bench

We’re not making any more moves. Our opening day roster is set.

This front office has zero interest in trading for Simons.
He is an upgrade offensively over Cole, but a significant downgrade defensively and twice the cap hit.
I could see a Cole and Gary for Simons deal closer to the deadline if we don’t see any production from AB and Jett, and Cole keeps declining. We’d have to include a first, but I can see that working for the Blazers, but no universe will we be looking to deal before the start of the season.

This FO is not going to pay Simons 27 mill/yr to come off the bench. Anyway is Simons even okay with not being a starter? IIRC he wasnt happy the last time he was coming off the bench..
I much prefer Sexton over Simons. Sexton has no problem coming off the bench, and is making 18 mill/yr. He’s also a better player IMO.

We as fans might like Simons. When you watch him play, and then think about some of the nights the Magic have offensively, how much of an eye gouging slog it can be at times, you just want a guy like him on the Magic.
But we are thinking like fans and not thinking like Weltham, Hammond, and Mosley think. Their philosophy is if you can’t guard, you don’t play.
They are very concerned about cohesion and culture. I would be shocked if they traded a piece of our core for Simons. They just aren’t in that mind frame right now.

Simons instead of Cole would be a huge scoring upgrade, i still don’t see the FO going after him though

HH Hu, I misread Brazzers

We need a legit center. I like WCJ, he’s really good, but he’s not… *center-y* enough… y’know what I mean

It’s fine. Let’s see what the internal growth looks like this coming season and then we can decide next year.

I doubt we are buyers at this point
It won’t be to Orlando.
