Bogdanovic on Jokic – “He’s great, but he only likes to talk to me. You know that in the NBA, if he doesn’t talk to media, he’ll get fined. But here (in the Olympics), there are no fines. So he says, ‘I don’t need to.’ No offense to you guys.”

Serbia's Bogdan Bogdanovic on why teammate Nikola Jokic hasn't talked with the media at the Olympics: “He’s great, but he only likes to talk to me, you know that. In the NBA, if he doesn’t talk to media, he’ll get fined. But here (in the Olympics), there are no fines. So he says, ‘I don’t need to.’ No offense to you guys.”

Damn, now I feel even worse for Kawhi

  2. FWIW I always thought NCAA athletes especially in high revenue sports should have started protest by refusing to do media

They are not getting paid so why are they forced to do this extra work that is only there to promote making money

Windhorst said on his pod as well that with the exception of the Olympic broadcast, no one post-game can record (audio or visual) comments from players/coaches

So that’s why Micic wasn’t passing him the ball lol

We fans like to hear the stars’ thoughts on a game, but the questions that the NBA media have are a lot of the times dumb.
If we can get something like what Dray had in his podcast in the finals against Celtics, that would be great. Juat unfiltered thoughts and analysis.

These players make enough to where they should just eat the fines

    Media availability is worthless

What’s Jokics back story? We all know how Dirk relentlessly trained with Holger in Germany on his unorthodox game. How Giannis came from nothing in Greece and clawed his way into the NBA. How Luka was a wonderkid prodigy from the time he was a teenager playing in Spain.

Despite his nonchalant IDGAF attitude I’m sure Jokic busted his ass to make it to the NBA and there is a good story there besides the fact that he likes horses.

Tbf NBA interview questions ask some stupid shit they’ve heard 10 times a week.

Wins one regular season match, what does this win mean to you? what does it say about your resiliency to keep a 20 pt lead over a tanking team?

  9. DozahFrozah

So does this mean he doesn’t talk to the rest of his teammates?

    Good

It’s a giant waste of everyone’s time and energy, and provides nothing of value

Pop’s antics make more sense now is it.

Who wouldn’t get grumpy and sarcastic when you have to do shit like this for decades.

To be fair to Jokic, Serbian media were ruthless when he decided to take a summer off from national team in order to prepare for the next NBA season and since then he doesn’t talk to Serbian media. There were stories about how he is a traitor, smear campaign against him and his family and so on.
For example, Peja Stojakovic doesn’t talk to Serbian media either for the same reasons, Vlade Divac as well (not 100% sure for him though).

Imagine a car mechanic getting interviewed after every oil change. Joe: I see you used chevron hyper smooth oil this time instead of the shell super smooth. What was your thought process behind the change?

No offense but he’d be happier if you guys didn’t exist.

That fine is such a dumb rule. I get journalists need their little soundbites but to penalize players for being more introverted always bothered me. Also the questions suck.
