As the national team coach he has been terrible. This is one of the worst Serbia teams in a long time. They may still squeeze out a bronze medal but it will be on the back of Jokic and Bogdanovic. If either are not on the court, it feels like they are utterly hopeless on offence. They were lucky to squeeze out a win against Australia. Some slightly fortunate refereeing and some fortunate shot making like that Micic fade away 3pt shot got them out of some potentially game ending holes.
His selection is clearly biased towards red star players, likely to raise their stock. Hes also been making some bizarre choices at crucial moments in the game and itâs he loves his yes men. There are too many talentless ogres on that team that will listen to everything he says but offer little to nothing on the court.

He only cursed once đ and it wasn’t personal (something like “who the fuck are you defending there?”). Not really a stream of profanities, like you may think if you don’t speak Serbian

Thatâs how proper coaching looks like when youâre free of influence of âstar playersâ and you âmust manage the feelings and expectationsâ of everyone and you can simply focus on your job: getting the maximum performance out of your team on any given night.
This is why no European coach will ever achieve greatness in NBA because theyâre arenât empowered enough to train and manage their teams through games. Everyone has an opinion whatâs the best and thinks they know better than a guy that actually gets paid to do the job.
