And I’m seeking for him to become an All Star, and focus on helping Steph.

  2. D3struct_oh

This is what happens when you publicly say that a guy is too valuable to be traded. Kuminga was already gassed up. Now he expects all star treatment.

Time to put up or shut up.

  3. Opposite_Daikon_6396

He won’t most likely qualify for the 224mil even if offered.

  4. LordTremendo

Seek away, JK, but first you must ball out

  5. BBOONNEESSAAWW

Who here *isn’t* seeking $224 million from the Warriors?

  6. No-Possibility5556

Show me averaging 22/8 first but I like that he puts himself in this category

  7. spidermanisthebest

and i want sydney sweeney we all can’t get everything we want

  8. Incronaut

Most likely we’ll give JK the Draymond treatment in his older contract and have him seek out another deal to see what he’s worth and then the Dubs will match it

  9. Philoforever06

    No fucking way. He’s not a game-changer.

  10. nopointers

“Report” could easily boil down to nothing more than someone in a hallway “yo, JK, you wanna max?” “Yeah, that’s cool”

  11. SF_Music_Lover_NSFW

For those who kept asking why the Warriors were more inclined to add Kuminga to a Lauri deal, rather than Podz, THIS is the reason!! Even if he doesn’t get the full $224M, Kuminga is gonna get a huge contract, and is gonna go from a good young player on a cost controlled deal, to a good young player on a star level contract.

I’m not saying he won’t end up being worth it in the long run, nor am I trying be down on JK. However, it has very real implications on the salary cap and future team building flexibility.

Yes pay a max to the dude with no bag and one move that gets shutdown in the playofffs. Tired of stans riding the rookies who bring no value to a ring.

Steph literally showing why he needs another all star / superstar.

  13. KajAmGroot

Honestly, that’s just his agents talking. They wouldn’t be doing their job if they didn’t at least attempt to get him max money. I’m sure he will try to take what he can get though

  14. asBad_asItGets

And we’re seeking a 22ppg #2 option who can defend 1-4. How bout it then JK?

  15. maupp11

I always suspected JK never intended ti sign this year and would want to do it next year after he’s had a proper season getting consistent minutes and showing what he has.

If he believes in himself as much as he’s shown then it’s no surprised he’d ask for the full max knowing full well he isn’t getting it this year but is confident enough that he’ll prove it after a year where he’d get consistent minutes.

It’s a win for everybody. He balls out, proves himself and the Warriors should be happy to pay him. He doesn’t ball out, he doesn’t get the bag. It’s that simple.

  16. GSWarriors4lyf

Lol! He hasn’t prove anything yet, not even an All-star selection. A starter the whole season and even lead Warriors in a playoffs series win.

  17. Macktologist

Dude just hire the Serbian team for way less.

  18. Successful-Ad-4872

Wow yall really doing a 180 rn.

You seriously think he won’t try to get a max? Especially right after the team jeopardising Steph’s timeline to cater for the young guys.

  19. nghbrhd_slackr87

#Play it out and let the market decide

  20. taygads

That would be a higher annual salary than either Dray or Klay has ever earned in their careers lol just to put it into perspective.

Edit to add: Oh and to make it worse, that total contract amount would be ~$47 mil more than Dray’s career earnings to date. 🙃

  21. ibowlwithquintana

He gotta ball out this season to get any sniff of a max

  22. richstyle

thats an allstar level contract. Hes not going to magically be one off one offseason. Dude doesnt have the handles to create for himself. That’s why he was never a reliable 2nd scorer. He has one dribble move and a drive to the basket. Needs more than that to warrant a max deal.

  23. Wavepops

Agent is just doing his job they know they aren’t getting that

  24. That’s fine. Let him earn it and pay him next summer instead of paying early.

If they pay him this summer, he’s also basjcally untradeable next season, which limits options.

  25. zanguine

If he shows he can be the 2nd star we’ve been looking for then sure. Has shown glimmers but max players need consistency which he has yet to show…

  26. sloppymcgee

Hit the weights and rebound a lot more.

  27. slavicmaelstroms

If he can win Steph’s fifth he’ll get it

  28. Blowback_

Bro just saw Lauri get it, but what the fuck is this kid doing? He makes a good leap last year and hes looking for 224, no all star, no actual NBA accomplishments, not even most improved and he’s already “seeking” max money.

I like this kid, but I believe he’s supremely overrated, not to say he isn’t good, but this is kinda a bad look to “seek” the max days after possible trade rumors.

    This kinda makes me nauseous.

  29. ScaredPresent3758

I haven’t seen anything from Kuminga that warrants 224 million. If he’s expecting that much for what he’s done so far, that’s just not realistic.
