It’s crazy a Nuggets fan die hard at that gets roasted for cheering on their favorite player. What’s crazy is a small market team like Denver’s chances of getting another player to Jokić are slim to none. So fans enjoying the ride and rooting for him OMG we committed treason 😆!

I like that Adam mentioned how much joy there was in watching the game and the players operate at such a heightened level. I liked Swipa's insight into the drama around fan alliances and patriotism. There was manufactured drama in the comments.
I was accused of being racists because I said I thought it'd be nice to see the best team in the world be humbled and a troll was claiming that was a racists comment. I was being tongue and cheek and thinking in terms of rivalries. I'm a Nuggets fan and yes, I like it when we beat James and AD– it's very satisfying.
Later this individual (working for a troll farm, maybe KD himself?) lectured me about freedom and admonished me for "actively rooting against my country." I am surprised they didn't call me a Marxist or socialist also. My god, lunacy. They were very dictatorial about their biases and projections. What insight they had to augment my own perspective lost it's currency in the form of an attack from a rando.
If that was KD — you are awesome and you are not the one I want to be facing in any elimination game ever. I also understand where you are coming from and minus the toxicity it's food for thought, so I appreciate the comments nonetheless. If it's the troll, you're still pretty weird. If it's both, then I guess it's more nuanced. *sarcasm
No matter who won, it was just a great moment for basketball fans. Politics had nothing to do with it and that's the point of the Olympics, we rise above that petty crap. Although politics have historically taken a very real role in sports and the Olympics in general, that's it's own topic entirely.
After losing the game you shake hands respectfully even thought tears are welling and burning in you eyes. I think that was going on with Bogdonovich at the end, it was crushing while the Americans acted like they took back what was rightfully theirs. They gave off a slight air of entitlement, but they are the best in the world so it's earned.
The entire event both during and after was moving. Still bummed Jokic and Serbia lost, but rooting for Team USA for the Gold. Hoping the Serbs get the Bronze. We can all respect each other now that the game is over right? Go Team USA! Go Team Serbia! Imagine if it were possible to mix the two qualities of each team together, we'd break the Olympics.
Some said that Panama referee was seen at the US players party after the Serbia game.

Jokic was not phenomenal yesterday. He was good, but not good enough.
I didn’t even bother watching NBA basketball for almost a decade until I saw it Jokic play. Then I realized how great Luca was plus Embiid and Giannis. Now I’m a fairly big fan again because the foreign-born players are so much better than the Americans. It’s boring as hell to watch American basketball With everyone standing around waiting for their 25 foot jumpshot.
I like Durant because he plays like an old-school player but outside of him, Irving, and possibly booker, I can’t think of an American player who I go out of my way to watch. I’m actively rooting against the US team because they’re brand of basketball sucks and most of them offer no reason to like them outside of how popular they are with people who think basketball didn’t even matter until Steph Curry started watching 30 foot jumpers.
USA cheated in two ways first one was bought and paid Refs (So bb finals have better rating) and second part was bringing Embid to play for them and i can guess third one is half of USA team is on steroids…But that is USA empire for you ppl 😛
1 state against 50 states, 1 MVP against 4 MVP, Luka Doncic play for Slovenia and Embid naturalized as American.And still it was Lebron who go to refs and cry in half time ,maybe to ask for same treetment as Aleksa Avramovic or something….On FIBA analyze there was 41 bad refs decision against Serbia( traveling of Embid ,Lebron changing pivot leg,4-th foul on Jokic, half court return Durant…) that was more then one by minute.Can Serbia win?
Also Luka Doncic have more arguments to play for SRB then Embid because Luka is actually half SRB.If Luka was playing for SRB SRB would destroy USA dream team with 20+ pts easy..
