But right after this KD hugged him and was talking to him, probably straight up telling him something along the lines of heads up. Young man. You got this.

When he walked over straight to the crowd to give his mom a big hug and cried on her shoulder is when it really hit me that damn… This dude’s still just a kid. Just 20. It’s easy to forget sometimes with how mature and talented he is.

It’s going to be an absolute blessing to get to watch him grow

Come on Wemby. 4 years from now you’re taking gold on US soil ! We just need to get a PG in that time.

Great game Vic! Now back to San Antonio to work out with the boys and get ready for next season

26 points to get silver against the best team in the world AS A ROOKIE. AS. A. ROOKIE. This kid is going to do great things and I simply cannot wait 🥹

The joy of victory and agony of defeat

He will win the championship with spurs…

  7. The sad thing is: Let’s assume he’ll be way better in four years. Sure, in theory, they could then win it in front of the U.S.’s crowd. Wouldn’t that be sweet?

However, first of all, it’s a team sports, and you never know whom you’ll be teaming up with then. Also, most of the U.S. players from this tournament will have retired by then. No chance to get back at them.

Still, France didn’t play well enough tonight, and the USA was the best team of the tournament, so they deserve it. 🤷‍♂️

  8. He’s got a few more seasons of losses coming, gonna be hard to keep him in San Antonio if he wants to be around a winning team.

I was at Pluckers Wing Bar and the restaurant was probably split 70/30 in favor of Wemby and France. There were a lot of Spurs fans like myself watching I guess hahaha I can’t wait to see him back in the Silver and Black

We’re so blessed to have a future superstar who cares so much about winning.

More and more I’m realizing how important the mentality is in young guys. He doesn’t just want to win, he NEEDS to win. And he’ll take this loss to heart and it will fuel his dominance in the future.

Played his heart out, I’m so proud of him and Coulibaly

  13. Lebron needed to assemble the Avengers of basketball to beat a team led by a 20-year old rookie by 8 points
