Ice Cube always pretending like there is a conspiracy to hold the Big3 down

  2. Altruistic-Twist-379

Sorry Cube love the music but Big3 is just plain boring hoops, you can watch streetball clips from yt and be more entertained than old dudes tryna post up.

  3. As someone who don’t know about the politics behind the scenes, you can’t do it at the Olympics but can FIBA really stop you if you’re organising a 3v3 televised game and hiring some FIBA-certified referees freelance.

  4. Yoon_Sanha

it’s a boring league with washed players

  5. dickpal

Old dudes in Big3 will be out of breadth playing FIBA 3×3 for 5 minutes

This is about branding. FIBA owns the 3×3 Brand. So I’ve Cube Brand is Fire 3×3 or something like that. Its technically two different sports. Because of the rules, ball size, dimensions, etc.

FIBA could definitely sanction people who participate with Ice Cube making them ineligible for FIBA contest.

FIBA is not stupid the Ice Cube’s 3×3 is a bunch of retired NBA players who actually play together as a team for extended periods of time.

If a bunch of washed NBA players in their 40s gave the Olympic Gold Medalist a run for their money or beat them it could end the sport that is seen as gimmick. Essentially 3×3 would become an extension of regular basketball.

Just think if the countries who dominated regular volleyball also dominated beach volleyball. There is overlap, but people can clearly see its two different games.

Even to play in the Olympics for 3×3 they have FIBA sanctioned events that players must participate in. So the USA can’t just say hey Cade, Paulo, and Brandon Ingram no room on Team USA for you, but go play some 3×3.

I really think Ice Cube is making a mistake how he is doing 3×3. It looks like he is trying to get purchased by the NBA not trying to build a league.

The NBA is sitting back and letting Cube do the heavy lifting. The NBA could end Cube tomorrow starting a barn-storming “Senior-Circuit”. A 20 game touring league played in the off-season of former NBA players. It could be traditional 5 on 5 or 3 on 3.

I think the NBA and FIBA have an agreement that the NBA won’t touch 3×3 basketball however. Because the obvious guardrails up to keep NBA players out.

lol fiba is scared of your league, sure Jan 😂

  8. Rio4goodbadgirls

I mean they can do play basketball anytime they want just don’t have any sponsors

  9. Shawn_thaGreat

I don’t wanna go conspiracy status but to me it seems FIBA doesn’t want USA to be too involved in 3×3. They want to market to the European nations who are more focused on it. BIG3 is not the apex of basketball at all but after watching the Olympics I definitely think a couple of those teams could beat the Netherlands.

People say the players in the BIG3 are washed and out of shape (which isn’t far off) but a lot of the games in Paris looked like something I would see at the local rec center.

Yall some haters bro, i hope curry n bron play at least a game so yall can shut up n watch

Ice Cube saying this, like this, means I need someone else to elaborate. He’s such a disappointment

  12. jmadinya

so full of shit, noone cares about the big3

  13. GotMoFans

I’m sure that the players for the Netherlands have the ability to accept contracts to play in a professional league if they are not already under contract.

If they are already under contract, then BIG3 needs to make a deal with the team that has them under contract.

Fiba creating their own rules to compete in 3×3 is pathetic. They clearly don’t want the US to send the legit competition to steamroll everyone. If you’re not going to allow the best possible athletes to compete in an event then it means you’re scared.

  15. CookiesCrumble22

Big 3 will never take off I watched it a few times and it’s just a bunch of old retired or washed up nba guys really out of shape putting up bricks. You can see better hoops at your local high school lol

  16. dead_stop1389

I love Cube but the “they are trying to silence me” bull shit is getting old already.

  17. I just want to remind everyone that the MVP of the last Olympics was a 36-year-old player that who retired from professional basketball two years ago and spent most of his career playing in the Dutch league.

  18. possumxl

Big3 is still happening? Now that’s some surprising news. I watched the first year and haven’t heard anything about it til now

  19. CookieMonsterNova

ice cube says things to get the big 3 attention

remember how he said the nba wouldn’t help them and that the nba didn’t care for them?

no one is stopping michael beasley and co from qualifying for the next olympics. but michael beasley and co want to get paid which unfortunately will not happen for olympic qualifiers

  20. OleDirtMcGirt901

If he wants to play a FIBA team, get his league sanctioned with FIBA.

I grew up listening to Cube but he’s been whining a lot these past few years when he doesn’t get what he wants…damn any rules. He wants to make money! Doesn’t work that way dawg

  21. The_Dok33

Just switch your BIG3 League to FIBA 3×3 rules, see how those guys do. That’s enough proof, if they can actually manage to be alive after five minutes.

That 1v1 with four spectators on court, no shot clock , stuff they do in BIG3 is nothing like the stuff at the Olympics.

    Not even close

  22. Sad-Fun-5960

I personally love the big 3. It’s fun watching some of the older ex-nba players compete including Joe Johnson and Michael Beasley. Some of the younger guys have talent too. Good on Cube for keeping this league alive 👏

  23. HatefulDan

lol, ice cube is like a bootlegger who’s always trying to make you think his product is better or on par with another product.

Big 3 ain’t that great of a show. It’s not terrible, but it’s not something I’d rush home to watch either.

  24. SportsFanatic2008

Cube right. BIG3 entertaining and gaining more popularity every year. But they all tried to sabotage it from the start. It’s alright, they’ll continue to grow and thrive

  25. Saucy_Totchie

Ain’t nobody scared of a league where Michael Beasley and Mario Chalmers are team captains lol.

  26. No-Party1793

Shoot if he streamed it would be easier to see shit

  27. Bubby_JJT_808

Trying to determine who is the best in the world without actually inviting the best in the world is pointless and that is what it felt like watching 3×3…I get not wanting it to be another US dominated event, but by doing so it actually undermines the legitimacy of the whole thing. You’re telling me Jokic, Bogdan and two other guys on the Serbia team couldn’t challenge for gold? Even if you got Luka in there with two other Slovenians it would’ve been so much more watchable…there are better ways to develop this event and if they can’t figure it out, they should just scrap it for something else bc what are those guy the gold medalist of anyway? Mediocrity?

3×3 basketball is way better than the Big3. It’s something different, and I like it. You have to take the ball back after a rebound, there’s only 12 seconds to score, and the free throw rule changes once you hit the foul limit. You score only 1 or 2 points (3p line). The court’s smaller too, and they usually play outside, which gives it a cool vibe. Overall, it’s just a faster and more exciting game.
