Ztay you got it a bit backwards. Naji is replacing djj. Klay replaces THj. And Grimes replaces green. Those are the “roles” they switch which are all upgrades.
Klay is going to be a amazing addition on the mavs, and mark my words they are winning the ring this next year. I see klay coming off screens for open shots and being a spot up shooter. The mavs are not going to pass the ball to klay and expect him to create something like the warriors did. I see klay as the heats ray allen on this team. N i think with klay hes feeling energized and feels like he has something to prove this year!
honestly to me the mavs are basically a lock for another NBA finals run i still see people valuing the wolves and thunder and some even the nuggets ahead but to me the mavs have the better roster out of all of them 3 pretty big upgrades year 2 dlively also people forget that pj and gaford was on the team only like 3-4 months on that chip run and the biggest one of them all luka was hurt for the WHOLE playoff run.last year i had them losing to both the bucks and the celtics to the finals that to me were the 2 best teams but with that roster i can see them beating the celtics but tbh i still think a healthy bucks team is the best roster of the leauge come playoff time
I am Mavs fan.. They said klay is going to start but still come off screens just not as much in Golden State. Klay is the # 3 option..

Dallas is a snail offensively, they can’t play 5 out teams because of what you said, switching on defense. Luka goes down and so does the team. Klay can’t play defense nor luka so they can’t play small ball and leaving in the shot blockers is a liability on defense. They will not come out of the west next year.
10:52 When the mavs met with klay he was breaking down film from the finals and telling them how he would fit into their offense. He knows the mavs don’t run the same motion offense as gsw and he still took less to sign there.

All of the new players for mavs play more defense then Tim hardaway.. Grimes too. If Tim is missing shots he’s a huge liability.
