Can we put some requirements around this one and make it so that there’s at least 30 games started to be considered a starter?
I submit for consideration Andrew Declercq who started 139 games and averaged 3.6 ppg.
AB-AA-Mobile
Tony Battie or Andrew DeClercq
DeClercq had pretty decent Per-36-Minutes stats. I think Battie’s Per-36-Minutes stats were worse. But yeah, it’s definitely a competition between these two.
You could also make a case for Greg Kite; he was also one of the worst.

Hezonja. I’m sure he was a starter at some point.

Dwayne Bacon. He led that 1 season in minutes played and he was awful. There wasn’t a single shot attempt he didn’t like, he played no defense and just generally pretended like there were no teammates on the court at all times. I thought it was amusing how he went from tank commander to just immediately out of the league once the Magic let him go

Mo Wagner coming 4th is amazing, I love it 😂
HarbingerML
What does “starter” mean in this context? For instance, Wes Iwundu started 46 games over 3 years with the Magic – but I’m not sure anyone would call him a “starter”
Maybe at least 1 season with over 50% of games started could be criteria?

How the hell did Mo get more votes than Penny 🙄

I only started watching last season so I gotta say Chuma during that stretch with franz out. But if we have the rule of so many games started: Gary Harris. I like Gary’s game but I felt his availability hurt his ability to play fluidly through the team. But I love his betting prop of over 1.5 threes. Excited to see how he’ll do off the bench next season. Once again, I’ve only watched last season so imma assume the all timers everyone else is mentioning is probably worse than ol’ Gary.

Steven Hunter should win this.

I don’t care about any goddamn “what’s a starter” qualifiers. When I read who is the worst…. Chris duhon will always be my immediate answer. I don’t even need to finish the question.

Can we just pick all of the guys around Tracy McGrady other than Mike Miller and Darrell Armstrong?

# Doug Christie
Not only was he a significant acquisition for the 2004-05 Magic, but he:
* intentionally tanked his performance in Orlando, playing 21 games, the majority as a starter, and scoring fewer than 6 ppg on 36% field goal percentage and 21% 3-point % * sewed discord in the locker room, complaining loudly about having to leave Sacramento for the rebuilding Magic * had his psychotic wife tailgate the team bus in her car * famously sent a bag of bone spur shavings to the GM as proof that he was unfit to play for our team, and * eventually demanded and received a buyout, a month or so into his Magic tenure.
The most destructive and entitled scrub to ever be gifted starter minutes in Orlando
Between Duhon and Bamba, you have 2 of the most underwhelming players to grace our starting 5…

How old is everybody here?
This should be the easiest category (next to best rim defender).
The answer for worst starter is:
#Pat Garrity
— In those early 2000s teams, Garrity was consistently talked about for being a wasted space on the roster. He actually started due to mostly injuries (2001-2003). His stats were always mediocre at best, and he played terrible defense. Outside of those couple of seasons, he never started again. By far, this is the player that was the Worst Starter in Magic history.
