Out of the ones they tried, Big Face is the most “legit,” in that they’re actually coffee snobs and even buy Geisha beans from micro lot auctions.
I got some Big Face to celebrate one of the years we got to the Finals. My friends with a refined enough palate for coffee said it’s pretty good, but definitely too expensive. I don’t have a refined enough palate for coffee, it all tastes like coffee to me, but Big Face was good still.

I dont know. While I’m sure it’s great, I question the credibility of any of these reviews. They’re corporations out to make a buck – what says Big Face didn’t pay more than Rudy G?

Former coffee industry worker here (not Starbucks but more niche similar in quality to BF) His coffee is great. It’s ethically sourced, etc. BUT- it is extraordinarily overpriced. When you use small farms this is bound to happen but I also think the packaging and branding is contributing to the high pricing. He is selling 8.8oz for minimum $30 while other renowned roasters (some he has partnered with) such as Onyx and Proud Mary are selling 10oz for around $22.
Edit: additionally, the other coffees that were sampled in this article are straight trash and just money grabs from the founders
