I’m surprised this hiring hasn’t been talked about more in this sub Reddit. This hiring is HUGE! essentially we have a HC material guy as our assistant. If you guys do not know Randle became an all star / all nba guy because of Johnnie Bryant and his development work. This is once again HUGE because he can (hopefully) do the same with Mobley!!! And other young guys also . Johnnie Bryant was also the MAIN reason why the Knicks offense was so successful . There’s a reason why Knicks fans was upset he left. HE was their vocal point despite him being an assistant coach . This a A+++ hiring by the Cavs and may I also mention he’s very very very close to Donovan. I’m excited what he has in store for Mobley development and what he can do for the young guys this season . Go Cavs !

It’s wild we were able to steal him without giving him a head coaching position.
I’m still amazed we got both Atkinson and Bryant, they’re really the main reason why I don’t mind the offseason passivity that much.
It fits the Gilbert pattern of having an emergency HC on the bench in case he decides to fire the main guy in the middle of the season.
I’m sure the guy is a good assistant and all but it seems like you’re giving entirely too little credit to Thibs, who has been a good coach pretty much everywhere he’s been and has a great reputation around the league.
