It’s the dead of the NBA offseason and I’m having spurs content withdrawals.
I’d like to start by saying I’m not 100% positive how the new NBA jersey system works. To me it appears every team has an association(home) and icon(away) jersey that stays the same every year unless a team rebrands. They also have city edition jerseys(slides 1-4) that are new every year since the 20/21 season.
To me it appears those are the only league wide rules. Other jersey editions seem to be up to each individual franchise. Recently we’ve had our statement jersey(pic 5) for the last two years and it would appear it’s returning for next season; and my personal favorite the classic edition(pic 6). I hate that the classic edition was only available for one year😭. It’s a shame we never got to see wemby in it.
With that out of the way since we know we will be getting a new city jersey next year, what would you like to see in the future? id like to hear all your cool ideas. the fiesta themes are cool and obviously I’d like to see them return in the future, but 3/4 of ours have done that already.
I think a come and take it theme could potentially be really badass. However, while I think we will be a much more competitive team next year, I still think we could be bad(imagine other fans trolling us for wearing that when we lost😭) and should save that for a year when we are genuine title contenders.
So my pick would be a Mexican color pallet. Puro. I think it could they could make it look really clean and reflect our culture and history of international success. (Also really help us lock up those south/southwest Texas fans, and with wemby who knows? Maybe even the Mexican and international fans😈 mwuahahaha)
Other honorable mentions: utsa or whataburger(lol) color pallets, a black and white digital camo return(like the last pic but the white and black reversed) , or new chaparral inspired jersey. Sorry this post was long.

I love fiesta colors. I’ll never not love moving in that direction a bit.
My favorites are the pretty standard looks with a couple flashes of fiesta
Black with simple fiesta color splash or an olive green paying homage to the military would be cool

My favorite is the all black with the lettering just being white outline. So clean

The black on black jersey from the Gervin era should become a standard alternate, along with a fiesta jersey.

i think we’re back in our silver and black era. unfortunately, i don’t think fiesta will come back for a while, the closest we’ll get to that is the new hemisfair theme they’ve come up with. 😕 i’d love to have an updated version of our black on black classic though.
Anything that uses red green and white to pay tribute to the community’s deep connection and history with Mexican culture would be great.

When I was a little kid I fell in love with the Spurs firstly cause I thought “silver and black” was nice to say and also a menacing color scheme.
I don’t like the new bright color schemes, I want our old dark and foreboding color scheme again, back when you could feel that every other team knew they were in for 48+ minutes of pain when they faced us. =/

I would love to see one where they use ONLY that teal/aqua as an accent color with the typical silver & black. If done properly, I think it could be fire.
