you don’t understand, it’s much better to over in the 9-7 position and hope for the mediocrity of the east division to show up in the post season so we can overachieve and make a long run like we are doing for the last season. Why make big trades for superstars or tank for huge prospects? That’s what people who want to be champions do

Were back to these horrible takes

Yes tanking after we lost LeBron would’ve probably been our best move to get back to title contention, but we’re probably the best franchise at competing with less so I don’t think we have to like a lot of other franchises.

You’re fucking kidding me, you whiny babies are *already* back on your “we need to tank” bullshit? I got it in 2018 and 2019 cause we didn’t have much hope in our young dudes or a reliable star on the team, but we’ve made the playoffs 5 years straight with 2 finals runs with this core, please just shut the fuck up and enjoy what we have, or go watch a different team.

Tanking has worked out so well for Detroit and Charlotte. Perennial world beaters due to their All NBA players they’ve drafted off their tanks.

You know how the Spurs got that 5th championship? By not giving up on their aging core. Duncan, Parker, and Ginobili were all way past their primes, but that didn’t mean the Spurs gave up and traded them all for picks. They built around them with what they could.

Well, they never won back to back titles, so karma?

real heat fans know that star power isnt what the Heat needs to win more championships, its fewer poorly timed injuries

I will take quality ₿asketball with occasional titles and tons of playoff appearances over any type of tanking nonsense. 🔥🏀

Tanking is the best thing that this team could do. But we just need to do it for a year. And change Jimmy for picks.

So many things wrong with the idea of tanking.
But as for the actual team. We’re talking about a team that was a top 3 seed before the shut down in 2020, and a team that made it to the Finals. A team that was the number one seed in 2022 and a couple plays away from another Finals berth. Lack of size and injuries have plagued them at the worst times (ie vs the Nuggets & the Laker, and the play in/playoffs in 2024. They have been one of the final four teams remaining 3 times in the last 5 years and they have talent in their prime or leaving it.. not to mention a Hall of Fame coach in his absolute prime. You owe it to Spo to field a competitive team every year.

Best thing to happen to this franchise was drafting Wade, which required tanking.
