Mike Vorkunov: Seems Dallas Mavericks will not be on Bally Sports Southwest next season. Diamond Sports filed a motion asking bankruptcy judge to reject its deal with the Mavs and said franchise “mutually” wants to terminate rights agreement ahead of 2024-25 season. The judge needs to sign off.

Hopefully doing the same thing the Stars are doing…making it free

Would love a high quality stream as well as a WFAA stream so cord cutters can get in on the action. Probably asking for too much but I have a good feeling at least some games will be on WFAA

Some way, somehow, we MUST KEEP MARK FOLLOWILL AT ALL COSTS!

  4. Basketball and really all sports should be available on local TV in their home market.

For those of us who lived here and remember a time when all the sports were on local channels – it matters. You need your local fanbase engaged and I’ve never felt they were engaged when they were available on cable.

People keep up with the Cowboys because anyone with an antenna can pick up Fox 4, NBC 5, and CBS 11 (and the WFAA 8 simulcast of ESPN). Mavs haven’t been accessible since they did the Friday Night TXA 21 games.

Good fucking riddance Fox Sports/Bally Sports. Hope to never see another cable specific provider for my hometown team ever again.

This is going to end up with me struggling to watch my favorite team. I’m not in the Dallas TV market but still blacked out from streaming for being “too close”. The wfaa games were a no go for me. Too far away to get their signal on my antenna.
