Heat Nations under values him and I understand why we let Delon wright Walk and he was brought in to replace Oladipo

Binge watching Josh Richardson highlights ( which isn’t much) , however he IMO is our best player off the bench last season outside of Jamie… the fan base don’t give this guy enough credit. His shot creation , 3 point shot , and defense was solid for what we were paying him. Not to mention his passing is underrated. I understood why we let Delon walk because Josh is an upgrade over him at the PG position not to mention he’s more versatile and moves the ball quicker. Now the reason I say we was brought in to replace Oladipo is because him and Olay play very similar although Oladipo has better defense. The characteristics in their game is very similar if you actually watch. Josh Richardson likes to move fast and attack the paint the thing about Josh Richardson is he takes selective shots and he’s a more consistent shooter as well.

Correction: *He was our best player off the bench last season outside of Jamie*

I don’t personally undervalue JRich, dude was catching fire before that season ending injury. I’d honestly say it was the hardest hitting injury to that 2023 Heat team in the regular season.

He was really hitting his stride w the second unit before his injury. The 3 was falling and he was hitting those tough middies he was known for. He will be huge off the bench, especially if he focuses more on the 3&D aspects of his game

Been saying I want him to start at the 2. It’s too much of a defensive liability to go with Jovic AND Herro/Robinson. Someone recently posted Herro and Ware off the bench could be a great second team.

If Herro absolutely must start even tho we all know his best role is as a 6th man, then Locksmith needs to go at the 4. But I’d much prefer Jovic-Richardson.

In a vacuum, we have a team of extremely valuable players. But I think “the culture” impacts this value in two important ways. Injury is the variable that consistently fucks this team but 1) it’s part of the game, and 2) there’s a risk you take when you have a team that trains and plays as hard as we do. BUT, this risk is mitigated by prioritized high character, so we don’t have to deal with bullshit avoidable personal drama like other teams. There are obviously a lot of other factors but I think we manage the variables of injury and off the court drama amazingly well all things considered.

JRich is a really good player and people underestimate his impact when we talk about the injuries. He would be like if Celtic didn’t have White or Holiday

So underrated man. The energy and value he brings when he’s on the court is huge

Jrich has always been a fan favorite imo. He was beast mode before he got that injury last season. Obviously his defense wasn’t as good as his rookie time here but, he does his role well. And for the price you can’t beat it. Jrich is the homie.

Bruh, he the definition of a replacement player. You not winning (or losing) because of JRich. At 31, unless we legit in the hunt, rather develop our youth like Pelle Larsen.

Ignoring the Celtics game where he played 7 minutes before getting injured, Josh put up 10/3/2 on 46/38/100 splits (59% TS) for his last 18 games (from January 3rd to February 7th).

Obviously the FT% was on low volume (1.1 attempts a game) but overall I think this is decent numbers for a backup shooting guard. Hopefully he could maintain this (or better) for a whole season, especially the 3pt shooting.
