My uncle is an NHL agent so I’ve heard stories about a lot of guys. I only ever heard good things about the person Johnny was.
And Matthew, even more so, anytime anyone ever talked about him, it was just glowing raves about the human being he was.
Two great losses for the hockey community but just the world in general. I’m thinking of their family on such a sad day that should have been so joyous.

It wasn’t an accident. The driver who hit them was trying to pass another driver on the right side, where they were biking:
According to police, a driver of a Jeep Grand Cherokee hit two “pedalcyclists,” identified as the Gaudreaus, from behind while trying to pass an SUV on the right that had moved over to make way for the two cyclists. Police, who responded to the scene in Oldmans Township, New Jersey, at 8:19 p.m., said both Gaudreaus suffered fatal injuries.

Unbelievably devastating for the family.. that’s really awful news. Person could’ve been drunk.. or distracted on the phone or fatigued from work or whatever.. but damn we should be advanced enough with tech to prevent a lot of these car related accidents
Man Johnny Hockey is forever a legend in Ohio. Chose to play for the Jackets, literally out of nowhere. Rest easy 13. I’m gonna miss you.
It also wasn’t a bike accident. The cyclists didn’t fuck up. A drunk driver killed them and I think it’s important to call out unsafe behavior rather than imply that the victims were at fault.
