Lots of folks on reddit hate the Lakers. Not sure exactly why, but it is annoying listening to all these discussions. These discussions are horribly skewed and make no real sense. You rarely see Hakeem olajuwon listed in top 10 discussions, which honestly is a travesty on its own, but that board or one of the other nba discussion boards had a tournament of 1 on 1 players, or 5 on 5 players w/e. Where it would be Magic vs Bird. etc etc. ANd they had a whole tournament thing set up, and Hakeem won! Beat out Kareem I think. But then you routinely see him left out of the top 10 all time. Make it make sense.

I’m sure that sub is mostly just Gen Z kids that only witnessed Kobe post 2011 and spew the “he wasn’t top 5 until he died” narrative. I hate the modern basketball reference era where these stat bro fans just look at the numbers and call it a day. Kobe defied the stats and you’d only ever truly understand if you witnessed his game firsthand. This generation trashes Kobe yet praise Duncan for virtually the same things. The next one will trash Lebron and praise Steph/Luka/Jokic as well.
