[Lowe] There are rumblings that the Denver Nuggets front office and head coach Michael Malone are not seeing eye-to-eye, “To a degree even unusual for the NBA”

If this is true then it’s time for Josh to get a new GM. If it’s a problem between GM and Moach I’m sticking with Moach.

We’ve had rumors of this for a long time but the Nuggets fanbase has just stuck their heads in the sand. I think there’s some serious friction going on between Malone and Booth. Should be an easy decision for the owners to prioritize Malone and push for another championship while the window is open with Jokic still in his prime.
OptionalBagel
Is he just parroting the stuff Matt and Adam have been saying since the season ending press conference? Like… yeah I think it’s pretty obvious that Malone has a different mentality and priorities than the front office.
If this ever actually comes to a head (I’m not sure I believe it will) the Kroenkes better fucking pick Moach over Booth
Stormeve
Fuck it, the Booth apologists cant get mad if I stand with Moach. MOACH IS RIGHT AND HE ALWAYS WILL BE!!!

Fire ~~Malone~~ Booth

Calvin Slooth making it harder and harder for Nuggets to win championship. That guy annoys me asf.
Like, that’s no brainer Malone is more important for our team..

We all love Moach. But that doesn’t excuse him for running the players into the ground last year to the point that they gassed out when it mattered.
He NEEDS to play and develop the young guys. You can’t tell me that Julian couldn’t get 5-10 minutes a game the second half of regular season last year… just saying
Even giving Zeke more minutes last year. I don’t think he is good but who cares if we lose 5 more games but go into the playoffs healthy and fresh. And maybe we get lucky and he finds a rhythm playing everyday
kosmos1209
Can they actually trade any of the young guys for old veterans and still be under the second apron? Would those vets actually be an upgrade over Pwat, CB, and Strawther? I’d still rather have worse vets than young guys if Moach is gonna play them more, cause the reason Nuggets lost the Wolves series was that Moach absolutely did not trust or use the young guys and the starters were gassed nearly every game.

Never liked Booth tbh! I hope he’s gone. The guy obviously doesn’t understand the importance of maximizing the championship window of a player like Jokic. Just goes to show, players aren’t always fit to become front office material, especially a GM.
FreshShades
Never liked Booth anyway.

We should have never let Tim go.

Malone is easily a top 10 coach in the league, has experience both developing players and winning a chip plus Jokic loves him. Unquestionably you need to keep Malone around. We just saw with the Bucks that good coaches with experience don’t grow on trees.
To me Booth needs to be on the hot seat. Relying on late 1st round draft picks with prime Jokic is malpractice and I can absolutely understand why Malone is not happy.
SeaworthinessOdd548
Imo it seems like Booth wants his cake and to eat it too. He has one foot out the door focusing too much on the future while keeping his foot inside with Jokic and wasting his prime.

Fuck Lowe, Marry Malone and Booth, Kill Lowe. Booth didn’t have resources to repeat what Konnelly did. Cup rules are against keeping 2 home grown star players, let alone 3. Malone is extremely undervalued, I think he is top 3 in NBA long time. Booth was also much more conservative than Conelly was, Connelly was more of a high risk gm.

Calvin is pushing for the rookies but Moach knows the answer lies in Vlatko!

Yeah no… if it’s between Booth and company and Malone? Fire the front office. Malone is an excellent coach and won us a damn Championship
LamboJoeRecs
Yawn. Creative tension in the workplace. Malone tried it his way last year and can’t say it worked. What does he want the front office to do? What other options do the Nuggets have other than build from the Draft? Does he want Booth to trade MPJ? They have no flexibility just based on where they got caught with the CBA and Cap rules changing. Adapt.

Also, the idea of a team winning back to back titles is increasingly less likely. A team hasn’t even made it back to the Finals in consecutive years over the last 6. Denver’s championship window is the rest of Jokic’s prime (6 or more years, what indication is there his game wouldn’t age well as long as he stays conditioned? So Booth IS making the right call of trying to win multiple times over that window as opposed to pushing all in thinking they HAVE to win NOW.

A pro-moach thread? In the nuggets sub?

I can’t judge which side I’m on with this conflict until this season plays out. the loss of Bruce was inevitable so I can’t put that on Calvin, and while losing KCP hurt it’s too early to say whether or not it’s the right decision. Malone’s refusal to play young guys over the years has always frustrated me though.
petarisawesomeo
Lazy writing by Lowe trying to create controversy during a dead period when he has to go on ESPN every day. Malone already admitted he needs to play the young guys so the starters dont have to carry the entire load late in the season. Booth has already discussed how the CBA restricts team building and doesn’t allow for contenders to spend $22mil on the 5th starter. None of this is new.
