The Rockets are Building Something TERRIFYING…

The Houston Rockets are an extremely exciting young team with a ton of potential led by Alperen Sengun, Jalen Green, Amen Thompson, Cam Whitmore, Reed Sheppard, Jabari Smith Jr, and more. They nearly managed to sneak past the Golden State Warriors and into the play in tournament last season, but fell just short. This year, the Rockets seem poised to make a push at a playoff spot and feel like they’re just one big trade away from reclaiming a spot towards the top of the NBA’s western conference. Let’s talk about it.

  1. dawg i had the leaguepass last season mainly for this team (I live on the east coast not even from Houston) Sengun is fun to watch and if Jalen can be an efficient non highlight hungry scorer that duo plus great 2 ways and role players like Amen, Cam, Jabari and now Reed will be scary

  2. People forget that Jalen Green regressed in the last week or two in the season. It’s much easier to believe he had an unsustainable hot streak that cooled down significantly than him figuring things out. He still is a poor defender and playmaker. I don’t get the hype. I could be wrong, absolutely. But I don’t think a 2 week stretch sells me more than 3 whole seasons of awful play with very marginal improvement.

  3. ime is the key, he’s gonna get this squad into shape and if they don’t shape up they’ll get moved simple as that

  4. JG has to be engaged defensively & able to be effective off-ball, when the offense isn’t running thru him. He’s been a completely different player when Shengun is the focal point.

  5. Too small.
They drafted another SG when they needed Zach Edey.
Going to be bullied by the Wolves and Nuggets down low.

  6. They’re in line to get kd or book as well with the suns having traded their future away with no real chance of winning a ring this season or next

  7. I'm looking forward to watch these trio playing together with the 2nd unit.

    PG – Sheppard
    SG – Whitmore
    SF – Amen Thompson

I expect that to be showtime!!! and Houston 2nd unit will be the best in the NBA.

  8. For me, if the Rockets don't make a big jump this year, they need to trade of of the 2 guys (Sengun or Green). I'm worried about this duo and i don't know if the duo works, a really good year to see what they will doing in the future.

  9. Green is a March merchant. He’s done this a few times, and it’s time to accept that he’s just not a great player and shouldn’t be part of any competing core.

  10. I’m not sure how the money works but what y’all think about Ingram for Jabari Smirth Jr(plus filler). Pelicans get a perimeter big on offense and a good defender which is perfect for Zion. Rockets get another star, someone who can command a double team, distribute a bit and is excellent in the mid range which would make pick and roll with Ingram and Sengun lethal. I’d start Eason with Smith gone. So it Ingram, Green, Thompson, Eason and Sengun. My only issue is Eason and Thompson gonna have to handle the brunt of the work on Defense. That won’t be easy.

I didn’t forget about Fred. I’m just not imagining him being with the Rockets as a long term part of the core.

  11. Houston has the talent at every position to be deadly. It's just a matter of it jelling all together.
And it looks like they're track.

  12. And I still contest that if Jabari Smith realizes his full potential. He could Low key, still emerge as their best player.
Tools wise, his skills are like that imo.

  13. Rockets are missing a top league talent. Sangun is a borderline top 50 talent/ 10th best center. If he moved to PF, maybe becomes top 5 PF.

  14. Im a huge rockets fan and honestly the front office has such a difficult job ahead. There are so many different directions to go and every single one has a potential to end up being a disaster. My opinion is we should trade jalen green this season whether he stuggles or plays okay, unless he becomes as good as someone like donovan mitchell. I have more faith in all our other young players becoming winning players. My prayer is Amen hits as superstar by year 3 or 4 but its not guaranteed especially if he never develops a mid range shot or floater

  15. Rockets are trash why are you selling these people false dreams. Just like my friend he swear they will be a playoff team. News flash everyone gotten better, Memphis will be back so that makes the rockets the 12th seed realistically

  16. Its interesting to see what they will sign Jalen/Sengun to as they are on contract negotiation time. If they give both maxes, this team wont be a title team, but if they manage to convince them to take less they can really build something. They are at a big crossroads and they are open to trading everyone as well as keeping everyone. Very interesting team

  17. What if Houston trades Sengun/Green/Amen/All of the Suns Picks for Booker and KD? Wouldn't that be interesting

  18. Great video. I'm with you on Green. I've seen too many flashes not to have hope he turns out to be great.

My biggest hope is the team keeps as much of the core together as possible.

  19. Green isn't that good, it happens every year, theres a stretch toward the end of the season where mediocre players shine like stars because other teams stop caring and mid players on bad teams get a stat boost from trying hard in meaningless games.

  20. They shouldn’t waste their time with green, can he even be better than Zach Lavine? They should build around reed he’s the real deal & Sengun then get some defence

  21. By swapping for those brooklyn picks for phoenix picks it also allows them to kick the can down the road so to speak and concentrate on developing and salary cap on current talent, whilst ensuring a future of consistent high draft picks

  22. 1 – Sheppard
    2 – Whitmore
    3 – Smith
    4 – Sengun
5 – ? They need to get a young mobile 7'1+ rim protector and rebounder. Jamarion Sharp would be great for them.
