Good on Josh. Dolan hasn’t really been a detriment to the team for years now. Since the Mills firing he’s actually done a pretty great job picking good people, and staying out of the way.
He’s a bit slimy in his NYC politicking, but what rich guy isn’t.

Criticizing Dolan has been played out for yrs…
He has been a great owner for the last half a decade. He put the right leadership in place and has bowed out.
Anyone who says anything negative about him hasn’t been paying attention and is trying to sound like they know what they are talking about.. I’m 54. I know he used to be a pain in the ass. The Melo move was his biggest mistake. He’s learned and moved on and the team is thriving… and he is still the owner.
And let’s not forget.. his biggest mistakes were trusting Isaiah Thomas and Phil Jackson.. basketball legends… most people would have had faith in those guys

James Dolan unfortunately has 20 years of baggage and some fans won’t ever forgive him for it. Not that I have but if they team stay consistently good then I ain’t one to complain.
Now John Mara is who’d I boo looking at the state of the Giants
mattbrianjess
I wouldn’t boo the guy signing my checks either

I agree on him being a much better owner as someone looking to contend for a chip. Like, I’m shocked on how much better the org is doing. But the Oakley lawsuit started a few years ago and scanning peoples faces and kicking them out of MSG happened last year.
There’s definitely a subset of fans that’ll be hanging on to those complains for a few years.

Dolan is a Top 25 Owner in the NBA right now. Maybe even Top 20. Low bar but imagine saying this a decade ago when he solidly was in the bottom 2.

Which players have ever spoken about Dolan though? Oak, who’s objectively a cranky pice of shit? I’ve never heard a single other player speak out against him, I’ve seen bunch of them he’s wiling to open his pocket book and that he’s fiercely loyal(which is pretty much his biggest fault)

Josh and Jalen both had dolans back the other night (understandably so from their end) and made great points about why he doesn’t deserve the boos
He brought in leon, let go of the reins a bit and look at where we are
solo118
The guy signs his checks, plus he does not get involved with day-to-day operations so no reason to boo him unless we are talking about the price of tickets at MSG

Boo every billionaire, especially this nepo baby fascist. I do not care that he uses his ill-gotten gains to fund the basketball team I like. It’s he least he can do.

100% chance Hart doesn’t know the Dolan lore going back decades.

He did what we asked. Hired basketball people and became a spectator.
I’m sure he’s going to be involved again but I feel good about him this time. Hopefully he just makes the ownership decisions that need to happen when they happen and stays out of the way otherwise, until necessary.

He’s still cringe and gets tax breaks he shouldn’t, but ever since he hired Phil Jackson he’s been hands off and let his basketball ppl make basketball decisions. He arguably let Phil Jackson stay longer than he should have. He finally made a great hire with Leon and he’s shown even when he was fucking up the team he’s willing to spend money.
He’s largely been a fuck up, but he should be commended also for changing his ownership style and philosophy to benefit the team. Things have been and could be alot worse, long may he stay like this.

Dolan will never sell the team so what’s the point of worrying about him or booing. As long as he keeps his mouth shut (which he seems to be doing for a while now) and keeps his nose clean, it’s all good

I have no problems with fans hating Dolan after all the stuff that happened over the years. But from all accounts, seemingly everyone who has played on this team (not named Charles Oakley) seems to have a good relationship with him.
All other stuff aside, it seems like he treats his players well.
