MJ was 31 years old at the time and scored 52 points on 24/46 (52%) shooting from the field. It was the first ‘professional’ game played in 15 months dating back to game 6 of the 1993 NBA Finals.
For those alive at the time: did anyone genuinely believe MJ was done with basketball after his first retirement? Especially after he does this and still looks like the best player in the world at his peak?

Imagine knowing the best basketball player in the world isn’t even in the NBA. He’s over in baseball trying to do a side quest.

So cool to see that kind of *in between stage* of his athletic regression. He shows flashes of 1993 and 1996 in his body movements.

Fun fact: The center court Bulls logo is now the [floor of MJ’s trophy room](https://www.trophyroomstore.com/cdn/shop/files/Actual_Trophy_Room_2048x2048.jpg?v=1698085645) in his home.
