Oh wow, hope he’s in a good place mentally. IIRC he had a young cousin die last season, and there’s been reports that he’s been having some issues. He’s also very religious, so could totally believe he feels like he’s called elsewhere.

Happy to see a person knowing/valuing what’s important in life (your health/happiness) and willing to take a step back rather than going through the motions. Obviously it would be great for him to “get right” and return to the league, assuming he wants to, but far too often people will sacrifice themselves for what they think they have to do.
Probably has someone to do with the cult that he’s in. Cares more about that than anything else and I hope he gets the help that he needs.
There’s a world where the money he’s earned – I’m sure over a million after taxes – is more than enough to last him while he gets WHATEVER type of job that truly speaks to him.
