DLO was a key player in the lakers regular season but failed to maintain or elevate his game in the playoffs. I think for 13-15M per year k would keep him.
Ideally his best role is off the bench but his most value due to his contract is as a trade asset. So he should be traded this year but hard to find the right team willing to take him
I think he is a negative defender and a playoff dropper. But his value for the regular season is some of the best in the league. I’m pretty neutral on dlo overall but when he’s hot from 3 he’s a lot of fun. I still think Austin and dlo shouldn’t start together (either combination of one on the bench idc) for defense and bench scoring but we’ll see.
Regular season : Awesome but inconsistent
Playoffs : Drops like he’s betting on the games and against us
Love him or hate him he’s the Lakers best option. Quite frankly he’s the best PG the lakers have had in a long ass time he’s the best Value in the league (outside of Brunson). His defense sucks but he’s a complete offensive players he can do it all.

Bench role
They would’ve still made the playoffs without him. Reaves and Rui would’ve picked up the slack and the offense may have even been more cohesive with less cooks in the kitchen. Reaves should be the third scorer behind LeBron and AD anyway.
DLo went from so clean shaven, youthful and elite looking to the oldest looking hobo in the league over 8 years.
You Dlo fans are gonna be upset when a healthy Gabe Vincent takes his starting spot in 15 games.
Above average regular season guard who can’t be trusted in the playoffs. Should not be a key player for any team looking to make a serious run.

We’re not going to get better right now so we have to deal with him. Basketball decisions would be to trade him for a legit 1 or a 3 and D to someone who needs just a spark off the bench offensively, or a team rebuilding that wants to shed salary.

Good player during the regular season, opposite in the playoffs.
Great regular season player. But disappears in the playoffs and isn’t a great defender. He would benefit from a veteran back up who could play down the stretch. But Dlo’s ego would have him pouting if he got benched to end games
i just dont get how he can be so good in the regular season but not even close to that in the playoffs. its not like his game is predicated on getting to the rim or being physical
My hot take is….he needs to control the offense a lot more than he does. He puts up allstar numbers without Bron because he’s allowed to run the offense. If Lebron wasn’t so insistent on playing point forward and allow DLo to run the offense (which results in everyone getting touches esp AD) Lebron could save his energy for late 4th quarters.
I also feel DLo failures in the playoffs are a result of him getting even less opportunities to run the offense. He’s a rhythm player and can get cold real quick if he’s stuck in the corner…which he usually is playing with Bron in the playoffs.
He’s such a good shooter though.
