Jokić on defeat to USA in Olympics SF: “It was a good game. Probably the biggest defeat of my career so far. A big chance, but there you go… In the end, they beat us. Some people will see it as a normal defeat, for those of us who played, it must have been the hardest defeat in our career.”

Definitely understandable. Obviously no one reasonable faults them for losing, but being that close to sending Team USA – and arguably the best iteration of Team USA since the Dream Team, if not ever – without actually getting the job done’s gotta hurt for sure. A couple more baskets go in for them, or a few less go in for Team USA, and there’s a not-insignificant chance we’re talking about them displacing the 2004 Argentina team as the greatest non-US Olympic basketball team of all-time (obviously they’d still have to have beaten France in this hypothetical in order for that to happen).

There’s a pretty good chance they beat us next time.

There best guys from this team will still be there.

Hardest defeat of my career. I walked into the locker room, I said: “WOW what a hard defeat”.
