Shooting better has to do with rythm. So disconnecting their shooting from Luka being out without further analysis is super dishonest.
If Luka comes back & out role guys go back to lookifng timid and not hitting shots, Slightly needs to admit that maybe Luka's style is an issue.
People on here seem to be forgetting that the Mavs don't make the NBA finals, and the Western conference finals without Luka. The dude has been awesome since he entered the league. Give the man a break, it's a long season, and it's only getting started.

To me if Luka can come in and get 27-28/8/9 on efficient shooting (47 from the field, 37 from three) this team can get to the finals again. If they face Boston again there itll still be tough because of Boston's versatility but itd be tough to think of ny other team that could definitively beat them in a series

Luka was having great fun at the bench with Markieff and Dudley. Just three dudes. Those three are not limited to just one recovery beer.
I don't see why Luka can't fit in to what the Mavs are doing. It's not like they're doing something Luka can't do. It's still a LOT of iso type of ball….but it's everyone taking their turn. Naji running the offense, Dinwiddie initiating the offense, Grimes doing it some, a little bit of Hardy (still hasn't really proved he can do that without having his dumb turnovers), seeing Klay do it a bit with Luka out, and of course Ky. So adding one of the most lethal offense initiator this sport has into this mix can only make it better.
I think Luka gets a bad wrap from ESPN and whatever because he's HAD to be a ball hog. What were Dodo, Bullock, Dwight, 2nd/3rd year Josh Green, 1st/2nd year Hardy, KP feuding with Carlisle, Maxi, Frank Niak??? were gonna do with the ball that is better than what Luka could do? But now he's got guys he can trust to be efficient like him. Got several legit 20 point scorers that can show out on offense. Naji, Klay, Grimes, Dinwiddie, Hardy, Gafford, Lively, PJ are all legit 20 point scorers.
And I don't see why Luka would have a problem with it. Gives him a chance to chill and catch his breath and do a little more on defense.
The thing with Luka is he needs to stop getting so baited by the refs and not put his defense in a bad spot. This defense has been doing work and is the main reason why they're on this streak.
I love it so much that Slightly's got the distinct privilege of getting the last words of the show everytime he's on. He always has the best one-liner quips lol

Team basketball is fun to watch. Luka is fun to watch. Need a blend of the two. No more step back 3s unless necessary.
Mavs clearly took half foot off from the def effort at second half and thats why NY got over the 100 mark and controlled the points diff til the end. Team effort – literally, both ends of the floor. At the moment im even little scared of Luka returning moment as it will take huge swing to the rhythm theive achieved now.

Guys, you don’t have to get defensive for Luka when people talk about how much better that ball is moving! Even JKidd himself has mentioned it and emphasized it on almost all post game interviews. There is no denying it that Luka was not managing the game well at the beginning of the season, and was ball hogging too much and Looking for his shot above else. Even Tim legler, a Mavs and Luka proponent last season, made noticed of that. However that doesn’t mean people are implying Mavs are better without Luka.
Luka only needs to avg 23 or 24ppg, 8-10 APG, 6 RPG for this team to go the next level. We need his midrange and passing ability. The 3s are not meant to be relied upon.
All I’m saying is that Luka doesn’t need to look for a screen everytime he brings up the ball. Just move the ball around and get the guys moving! I really hope he doesn’t come back stagnant and boring on offense.

It's weird. I watch Maxi miss passes and not score and wonder why he's in the game. But when I check the stats, he's always got a positive in the +/- column.
I don't believe Dinwiddie "lost" his confidence at all. Past two games are the only games he has not only played 30+ minutes, but was given the green light to create easy looks for others, shoot, and be at the center of the court as opposed to standing in the corner waiting for any threes. He has had meaningful reps and real rhythm. Spence is a legit leader.
The Dinwiddie experience should be better than the Hardaway experience because he can run an offense and can create more for himself and others…still think if he’s cold, he needs to be more careful with possessions. If he keeps playing this well when Exum returns, the rotations are gonna be interesting to see shake out. But a deep bench is a nice problem to have, especially if trying to avoid burnout before making a deep playoff run.
This fan base is literally insane. Lukas greatness broke these peoples brains. Every game is some new way to hate on luka. He's not even playing and every other comment is trashing him. You're sick in the head
This team has shown they can win without Luka. Somebody (Kidd? Kyrie?) needs to sit that boy down and say, "You're our guy, but you can't play if you hurt us on both ends of the ball. Your focus needs to be on defense. Lock in and be great. You're superhuman on offense when you're not pressing for shots, and there's no need to press with as deep as we are. Let's prove the haters wrong and start something special"

My opinion it looks on the sidelines did Jason Kidd and he's mind is glad that Luka is not playing so it gives him an opportunity to get the team together playing together when Luka come back Jason is not going to be playing around with Luka. And he left the game early because he knows this team can win without him. This is going to be so weird.
Good team win, but holy crap Jaden Hardy is one of the more frustrating players to watch. I think once Exum is back, Hardy only sees the floor in garbage time.
