Franz Wagner is having a breakout season for the Orlando Magic. When Paolo Banchero went down with injury it appeared to be a major setback for the Magic but Franz has stepped up, averaging 28 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists per game over the Magic’s last 8 games. They’ve gone 7-1 in that stretch. This video will break down how Franz has brought his game to a superstar level.

  1. To be honest, his 3 point % wasn't a major weakness his rookie year. I honestly feel he had tired legs and his shot was flat. He led Germany to the FIBA world cup championship and then played the entire season, He's only 22, but even so, he never took off between his 2nd and 3rd seasons. I feel that played a huge part.

  2. I believe Franz is one of the best all around players in the league. His defense is what impresses me most about the kid. He will be a force for a long time and the Magic are going to be special. Check the story out about when Scottie Barnes won ROY and what happen the first time Franz played him the next season. True story Franz ran into The raptors locker room BEFORE the game and told him “to lace them up tight it would be a long night”. Franz has 36 or 38 points that night. Barnes maybe 10. I knew then he was Special.

  3. Orlando got multiple young players who can become superstars..Paolo and Franz for sure..but Anthony Black is starting to get it going some..And tristan da silva may eventually be as good as Franz.

  4. With two 6'10" all-star level point forwards, a deep bench and the best defense in the East, the Magic will have home court in the first round… And they don't lose at home.

  5. It’s so crazy thinking about Franz really making his impact on the NBA and still, almost nobody knows him in Germany. There’s so small room for other sports besides football (out soccer, as you may have it). Football dominates everything. But in its shadow, there are so many great athletes absolutely worth noticing.
