The Timberwolves RUINED Everything
The Minnesota Timberwolves entered this season coming off a historic year where they swept the Phoenix Suns in round one, took down the defending champion Denver Nuggets, and made the Western Conference Finals where they fell to Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks. It was a very successful year that was followed by one of the more shocking trades in recent history when they shipped Karl-Anthony Towns to the New York Knicks in exchange for Julius Randle and Done Divincenzo. It was a stunning and controversial move that is currently looking like a massive mistake. Anthony Edwards is playing really well, but the Rudy Gobert anchored defense has taken a step back, Julius Randle has been underwhelming, Donte Divincenzo has been bad, Jaden McDaniels hasn’t progressed offensively, and the Wolves are one of the worst teams in the Western Conference. It’s bad and we need to talk about it.

They really diiiid
I will never understand why they broke up a winning formula by getting rid of KAT. He’s killing it in New York.
from the ny side the kat rumors have always been there ….miss ju and donte …they both put in work…they not happy to b there …
The economy, too?
They didn’t ruin it but they took a step back but here’s the thing Randle is a valuable trade piece at the deadline an all star on a 20ish million dollar expiring deal which is very valuable in todays NBA.
Minnesota has no future plans for him they resigning Naz not Randle. Randle is gone at deadline for piece that fits real real well with Ant then they got DD on a team friendly contract that’s who they really valued in the trade. Can package Randle and some else maybe McDaniels or Naw or not even those 2 guys keep em and package Randle Minot & or TS for a real guy who becomes available. I’m telling you guys Randle isn’t the end piece of this trade lol.
Yeah they not in a rush to trade him they have until the deadline of course they gonna try to win some games with him in the meantime but I would bet the house he is gone by the deadline for a surprising piece.
Wolves on top 🐺
I think they've gotta flip Randle ASAP for another stretch and protect big, or a really capable, 3 & D wing
I always felt that was a dumb trade for both teams. New York Knicks and the Minnesota Timberwolves are playing like trash. If the Knicks had Randle last season in the playoffs, they would've beaten the Indiana Pacers and probably went to game 7 with the Boston Celtics.
The Knicks didn't need Karl Anthony Towns. He doesn't even fit in the Knicks' offense. The Knicks are struggling and will lose in the play in-tournament or the in first round.
So overall, bad trade by both teams
Dumbest Trade in NBA History
This wasn't a shocking trade. it was being mentioned for like 3 months
They basically had no other options, most of the teams were!at that second apron, the Knicks found a loophole in the rules and exploited it , the commissioner Adam Silver wasn't to thrilled with the way the knicks pulled off this trade , they found a way to give exta money , players they don't play and a player over!seas had to be brought out he signed a contract, and thats how they matched salary along with Randle and Dontay, the commissioner said they have to close some loopholes he knows every team seen how this trade went down as far as a way to make salaries work, adam silver said the knicks worked the system cap wise
My guy Donte thought he was relevant he got shocked with that trade
So many ppl clearly don’t even know that if the twolves didn’t trade kat, they would have been in the 2nd apron paralyzing the teams ability to make moves. The best way to move forward is keep Donte and trade Julius Randle for a better fit at the pf/c position. Crazy they traded one of the only elite shooting bigs in the league. Rare player type that should have been valued way more than Randle and Donte.
People are acting like this was a crazy trade, but Minnesota had an all-star level center, a dpoy center, and a sixth man of the year center, while the Knicks had no starting caliber center. The move makes lots of sense in that regard. It takes time for traded players to adapt to new systems, and because the KAT-Randle trade was at the end of the off-season, they have had almost no time to adapt. It only makes sense that Randle will get better as he learns how to play in the system. People need to chill.
after they beat the nuggets last year i thought that my wolves were no longer the worst franchise in the nba
This is not a surprise tho. Switching KAT for Randle was obviously a downgrade.. Wolves just looking to clear salary.
This retroactively made the Gobert trade stupid again. The initial trade had everyone laughing at them for overpaying, but last year they gelled and it really shut everyone up cuz they looked like they’d have a 3/4 year title window out of the deal. But if you weren’t willing to deal with the very obvious financial result of that trade (when it looked like it was working btw) then why in the world did they make it???
Once they traded Kat, i knew they were cooked
Anthony Edwards is such an overrated nothingburger. He belongs in a Wizards jersey.
The new CBA just came and ruined the mojo these small market teams had.
Losing KAT from the Timberwolves perspective really sucks especially since he never really asked for a trade during his 9 years there despite the ups and downs.
Donte has been DISGUSTING this season
This the second franchise Luka has sent into complete disarray, next is OKC
