I think he looks most comfortable and has had his best games playing the off ball guard with Chris Paul and Trae Jones. His physicality, rim pressure, and ability to get to the line remind me of Dwyane Wade more than any "point guard" in the league. He's like a mix of Dwyane Wade and Jimmy butler with a HIGH basketball IQ + playmaking upside. If the shot comes along, the Spurs may need to shop Vassell in trade talks. Castle's playmaking and rim pressure are more valuable to me than Vassell's perimeter scoring.
He is a champion.
He is a winner.
Man as a Rockets fan I wish we drafted this dude over Reed Fultz Sheppard
This Spurs might be better than we think, they are really competitive without Vassell and Sochan, two main guys on this roster. Anyone talking about then, but isn't easy to lost your 2th and 3th option and still be +.500 as a young team. Playoff Wemby might happen this year
Castle is a better defender than I could imagine (knew he was good, but he steps up to guard the other teams best scorer and does a good job)
His offense will come around, I like that he is not scared to take a shot even if he just missed.. he makes up for his errors with hustle plays and that’s not teachable. Excited for the spurs
Remove the 'might be". He is the PG of the future. Aside from the physical attributes Castle's play without the ball is everything anyone needs to see to understand his impact on the game.
They are still using Pop system, give credit to Pop, players coach mitch and bryan wright emphasized that Pop laid out the system even if he's not around
True. His shot is a fluid one motion shot which is great, just needs more reps.
His handles are so tight even when getting bumped. And his IQ allows him to choose the best pace to utilise depending on the situation on the fly.
IQ and size alone makes his floor to be a jrue holiday.
Now, depending on how much he improve his footwork and focus to make shots over defenses and contests will be the deciding factor if he can be that Kobe or MJ mold.
Right now, his only go to move is the Jimmy butler hop step which he didn't have when he was in college. He keeps this up. He'll be in an all-star trajectory.
Spurs better pay him well
