The San Antonio Spurs are making noise after beating the Golden State Warriors and the Oklahoma City Thunder over the last week. Victor Wembanyama is hitting threes, Chris Paul is elevating everyone, Stephon Castle is starting to get comfortable, and young talents like Jeremy Sochan and Devin Vassell have shown great flashes when healthy. They’re more competitive than I was expecting now and still have so much room to go, it’s scary. Let’s talk about it.

Man having lived thru our dynasty with TD, TP, and Manu growing up then thinking Kawhi was the successor then going thru these garbage years I just wanna see us lift that trophy one more time I didn’t think we’d recover from that Kawhi debacle so soon
With 2 starters back soon the bench will become much stronger. Still could trade Zach Collin’s and get Charles Bassey as everyday stud on second unit. He brings excellent rebounding and shot blocking. Will have enough scoring on second unit.

I’m so tired of the sochan disrespect. He’s not a prospect at this point. He is one of the most versatile defenders in the world with continually improving offense and high iq. He was legitimately the best player on the spurs to start this season before his thumb injury (Wemby was really struggling out of the gate on offense).
The moment they signed Paul, they signed off on a successful season. Can't have a high achieving team with him.
Imagine if they used their picks to draft McCain, Knecht, and Jaylen Wells. Then, they should have traded Keldon Johnson and Sochan along with future picks for Cameron Johnson and maybe even Cam Thomas for more picks.

Before injury sochan was the best player to start the season. Not only guarding the other teams best player but was scoring efficiently by cutting getting easy baskets. With wemby starting to knock down 3s at a high clip that defenses have to respect his shot, with a healthy sochan the offense will be more dynamic. Sochan and castle with wemby on the floor all together is the end goal.

I agree with a lot of what you said. However, Keldon Johnson has been buns this year. Poor shooting percentage, lapses in defense, low PPG. Ship him out

I’ve seen enough without sochan to say that I’m ok with trading him for a “all star caliber player” our starting lineup with sochan was a -9.6 net rating. With castle subbing in it’s a +35.6 in the same amount of possessions. Sochans offense is just too brutal

This is mostly without Sochan and Vassell… probably our second and third best players. HB40 and CP3.. VETS like we always needed is what turned this team around. Stephon Castle development is a huge plus. We have a few nice picks coming up too, so excited for the future! Kuddos to you mans.
As a Spurs fan, best case scenario is playoffs and Atlanta getting the #1 pick again.

When I started watching Basketball it was the Lakers with Kareem, Magic and Scott. Then it was the Bulls with Jordan, Pippen and Rodman. But now there is a new team getting my attention…. Honestly Wemby only has 3 real weaknesses in his game.
1. He struggles to get loose balls off the ground
2. He isn’t able to get up relatively quickly if he ever falls to the ground
3. His weight which I think will improve in time
When the Spurs get better players around VW and hire Monty Williams as HC, they will be contenders. They could have 2-3 lottery picks in 2025.
Slow start for VW is b/c of the damn fake Olympics (France) hindered Wemby from a better offseason workout in San Antonio, pray for us. If VW-Sochan-Castle-Vassell-CP3 had played 65 games this year the Spurs would have at lwast 50 wins. But injuries have been an issue.
