The Raptors need somebody that can shoot jumpers from 5 foot 6‘ 7‘ out. The only thing Yak can do is lay up and yeah, back out the pain and rebound but man, if only we could get somebody that can not only protect the paint but jumpshot from the paint

I'd try to convince Dallas to trade for him. He would be perfect for that group and helps them try to go for a title. I'd want Lively back and salary filler. If its bad salary, we'll need a 2RP.
@ben rogers are you smoking crack, the raptors have only played 8 games like everyone else. saying they are 3 game back of 3 seed really means nothing. raptors are not a 3rd seed team. you can say the raptors are only 6 games back of 1st also. dont mean the raptors are a 1st seed.

Where have all the Poeltl haters gone. I felt so bad for the guy leading up to the season with all the negative comments. Even if it is hard to feel bad for overpaid b-ball players.

@ben rogers there is no impossible decision. its simple. raptors are 2 wins 6 losses currently. if raptors are 3 wins 15 after next 9 games, masai will pull the plug on the season early and take offers and move jakob in december. once you get too far behind 500 you are not clawing back with this team. this team only had one three game winning streak last year also.
also you are not getting zach edey from grizzlies for jakob poeltl. you probably getting marcus smart as salary match and top 8 protected 1st in 2026, and you try to get a 1st from someone else for smart after.
why is everyone so obsessed with tanking …we would be tanking for exactly what we have now …4 future star level talents and young talent that can be developed …nobody talks about having too much talent and the negative impact that can have on your team ..there's only one basketball
I mean Memphis would be silly to give up Edey, but that's the one trade I would entertain for Jak. Otherwise you keep him as competent centers are hard to come by.

Since the Raptors really don't have any other true centre except Poeltl, no way he should be traded.
It is all coach’s fault. He is not qualified as NBA coach. Very poor decision and no plan in last 4 minutes( forth quarter). This team needs only a good NAB coach. No trade at this time.
Portal has been great but he is older player and gets injured. He has good value trade him so Raptors can take a step back to take the step forward in the future. This should be a development year and raptors need one more top pick to be deep enough to have a chance to compete against Celtics. Also Raptors I believe have there future centre of the future in Comanche who will need a full season in 905 to develop. He is only 18 and started basketball 🏀 late. Like Siakim who also came from Cameroon he has a incredible motor and is fast enough to guard 1 to 5 which is really rare for the a 7 footer. He is still super raw but his ceiling is the next Greek Freak but he should be a good nba at least. Portal makes raptors to good to finish bottom of the league which they need to get the player that should help raptors become a power house again

I love Jak, i think we have the talent to contend in like maybe 2 years with the addition of a top 5 pick, but also our scouting team is just to good at seeing talent and develop that talent so if they see a young 5 man they like and a pick or 2 on top for Jak why noy
We need EDEY. Jak for Edey, right now! Trust me. Will make the Raps a powerhouse once they are back to mostly healthy and Edey gets more games under his belt. 💯

@benrogers if you look at jakob poeltl situation, next year is his contract year so he likely wont be picking up his player option for 2027. so jakob poeltl value is highest now with 2 years on his contract. you try to trade him next year his value is less and less as he gets towards trade deadline in 2026. you look at jakob poeltl getting 16-20ppg now, you willing to pay jakob 25-30 million (hartenstein money) a year to resign him early? you gonna gamble like fred/siakam and have to over pay or lose them for nothing, or trade him for a low ball offer at 2026 deadline for nobodys and late pick?
and if you overpay jakob poeltl, then you cant pay rj barret his max in 2027. so then you have think about trading rj barett now because 2026 is his contract year.
They should keep Yak. He should start until Olynyk leaves. By then hopefully the raptors get a better or younger starting center. It would be amazing to have Yak as your back up when the raptors are ready to compete. He came back to the team is playing great and is very vocal out there. He's a great vet that any young team needs. He fits our style. I don't think it's fair to him to trade him again. He's done nothing wrong and he doesn't deserve that. Keep him. Win as many games as we can to promote a winning culture. Whom ever the draft will be a top four player in this draft. Remember they chose Barnes and Gradey. Neither were pick in the top 3. Besides we need to eventually pay Gradey. There's not enough cap to pay anymore franchise players. Someone will have to go. You have a great core and bench. They just need more time to get better individually and as a team. That's going to take time. Stay the course. If something makes sense than make a move. Don't make a move just to make one. To me that was a bad take, just to make another crazy video 😂. Every video is crazy.

Raps have Olynyk and they can afford to trade Poeltl but its too early in the season….. Poeltl will get moved at the trade deadline….
Unless they draft a centre next year, trading Poeltl makes ZERO sense. The Raptors are struggling for one obvious reason: INJURIES
