I'm actually okay with Giannis taking the last shot with his midrange. He's been more than decent with it so far this season, and sometimes you need time like this to put it to test. Too bad he missed.
Why do they even have the replay center when these refs can't even bother to check some major thing like a game-winning foul? This one challenge rule sucks.
The NBA needs to fix this. Start by making a point of emphasis that refs wonβt blow the whistle unless they saw the contact. Right now they are reacting to what they figure must have been a foul despite obviously not actually seeing the foul. Then use the technology we already have to call games correctly.
3:53 so in this video that is already making the NBA look bad, the NBA editor that uploaded this also neglects to include the replay that shows the ball in fact went off Lonzoβs foot. Anyone watching this video alone might assume that there was more than 1 egregious mistake made by the refs in the final minute based on what the Hornets announcer said. What are you guys doing? Cmon, man!
Amazing how the League comes out and has the refs cop to blowing the call with Ball but just before they don't say anything about being wrong for letting Yonass take 4 steps on a drive.
Everyone's mad about the call at the end bc Melo tripped himself, but Giannis still had his hands on his midriff. Surely that's a foul, even if it isn't what caused the trip?
The most entertaining thing about this is watching Charles Lee at the sideline.
Two bizarre plays down the stretch, Lamelo gets bailed out with the call, but why would you drive to the cup with Giannis trailing you equally inane why is Giannis not at the low post on the strong side try force the double then kick out or go for the spin and finish at the rim ?
Giannis travels and carries are hard to watch. Amazing player if he didnt do that. And yes the Lamelo foul at the end was horrific call. He tripped all by himself.

Good job doc rivers challenging an obvious foul so that he won't have a challenge left to challenge an actual wrong call π€π°
