If he plays this well when Paolo gets back they’re conference finals contenders. Team needs to get better shooting from 3 though

The wildest part to me as a Magic fan is that the dude just does not turn the ball over. He should be exhausted and making mistakes but he’s just so high IQ that it doesn’t matter. Makes the right play to get the best shot for the team pretty much every possession
The Orlando Magic’s offense straight up SUX! They are bottom 3 in the East.
However it’s been their defense that’s kicking butt!

Honestly, when Paolo comes back, I'd try putting Franz into the second unit. Considering how great their second unit is already, you'd be barely giving up anything while gaining a second unit that can at least hang with or even beat other team's first units. You'd put opponents into a world of trouble managing their player rotations and stamina and in the forth quarter you drop the hammer and put a well rested Paolo and Franz on the court together.
I wonder how you and basically one of the commentators never mention Franz' role alongside Dennis in winning FIBA World Cup last year, not the least beating the US in the semis. Sice then, he has been picking up his game for not only the National Team but also the Magic so hard it can be no conincidence. Franz will be our next perennial All Star since we lost Dirk to age. 🙂
The record of the Magic without Franz Wagner is 3 wins versus 7 losses (2023/2024 season) and without Paolo Banchero 14 wins and 13 losses (all time). There is a point to be made that Franz is more important than Paolo for the team, so actually he already is the best player of the the Magic.
Franz is like a guard who happens to be 6'10". The only reason people underestimate his great defense is because we have players like Isaac, Suggs and KCP who are known for defense.
