NBA ruined their own product. They created their own basketball, with their own rules, and tried to make their own stars by giving them bull shit calls. Jordan and Kobe were products of greatness rising to the top over every other player that were really good in their own right. You can’t just put a label on Jason Tatum, or Trae Young, or SGA and expect fans to play along. We can see greatness for ourselves. And the style of the game and the players they’re trying to push is not greatness.
2’s are the best shot you can take. 2’s are only a bad shot if you’re not shooting 3’s. Unfortunately chucking a bunch of 3’s causes teams to guard the 3 and leave the 2, so for the 2 to be valuable you have to shoots 3’s.
It’s a skill thing. The best guys can drive into a more congested area and hit tougher shots.
Typically you’d rather want unguarded layups and unguarded high percentage 3’s from everyone who isn’t THE guy.
I don’t wanna watch a game where Duncan Robinson drives into mid range for a tough floater over the center. He should be outside the line so Jimmy can go to work.
The irony is that the "creativity", the "unique", the "different" type of players they want to see more of, are the euro/world players they want to keep from taking over the league.

As a basketball coach, I have a drill where my team runs a full court game for 15 minutes (no subs) but the catch is they can’t dribble. This stopped them from camping around the 3 pt line. They hated it but learned to move off ball and find cutting lanes. It also led us to being one of the few teams in my area that still value driving it in over a 3pt shot. Heck at one point, we were winning pretty good, they ran that drill in game for a solid 6 minutes before half.!
Its not only in basket ball, in all sports, sinner, swaitek or sabalenka in tennis, vinicius ,mbappe halland in football and the list go on , fans and the system was based only on numbers, who score more goals, who shot 3p the.most, so creativity lost the round and all the clubs creates monsters in speed, in training, in physics and body… basically all robots. So you can show some old magic from.doncic , or in football from rodrygo or yamal, or in tennis from alcaraz or ons jabeur, but it's not efficient at 100% and robots reach the n1 spot
Michael Jordan created the dominant shooting guard position causing stronger defensive and more fouls into more free throw attempts. Shaq created the dominant center getting the same result. But he had a Jordan like player in Kobe. But shaqs free throws were horrible. Then LeBron played as both Jordan and Shaqs style causes another change. Curry created the 3 point dominant shooter. His style is fuck free throws. But don’t foul me. These trend setters have changed the game over the last 40 years. Right now curry is the trend. What’s next.

3’s are only better than 2’s if its an open look. Id rather go 48/57 on 2’s and 8/12 on 3’s a game rather than 18/23 on 2’s and 27/53 on 3’s
