PHLY Sixers Postgame: Jared McCain, Sixers suffer crushing loss to Magic

The Philadelphia 76ers had their two game winning streak snapped tonight after falling to the Orlando Magic at home, 106-102. Rookie Jared McCain did all he could in an effort to pick up the win — leading the Sixers in scoring with 24 points on an efficient 10-17 from the field with three 3s on six attempts. 76ers All-Star Tyrese Maxey finished with 16 and a team high six assists, but struggled from the floor all night shooting just 6 for 17 and missing all seven tries from behind the three-point line. Maxey sat on 10 points after three quarters before netting six in the final frame as the Sixers made a final push to steal the win. Too little, too late. Guerschon Yabusele and Kelly Oubre added 15 points each for Philadelphia. All five Sixers starters scored in double figures. Orlando’s Franz Wagner led all scorers with 35, adding seven rebounds.

The PHLY Sixers team breaks down a tough loss at home where the 76ers had their chances but fell short in Game 1 of this two game series.

  1. Not trying to hate on my guy Devon, and Rick. Tonight and yesterday his 3 was off, games before it was on. Maxeys floor game was good tonight too, they just barely lost. Don't take a few games where Maxey is the focal point of the defense to provide and pit McCain against him and give fake outrage.

Fine to say he wasn't good enough tonight without pretending like what happened this season where he missed 7 games and the season truly fell apart with Joel/PG/and McCain in his place. Then to bring up last year's "punt" year where the expectations going into the year was possibly missing the playoffs and they were elite because Maxey was 1B to Joel's MVP, and again Maxey missed games during that 30 game span where they again trade Harden for Batum with expectations of getting PG13.

You know what, you guys had a bad night 😂

  2. These guys are bad at this smh. Been bad too. Tyrese is atop of the scouting report. Not only has he garnered the most attention defensively, he’s been GREAT DEFENSIVELY. He’s averaging 2.7 steals in his last 6 games. He’s averaging 7.2 assists is his last 5 games. There’s absolutely NO SPACING. He just had 39 against a top 3 defense 2 games ago! Outside of his efficiency, he’s averaging 25-4-4 with his best co star being a 20 year old rookie 😭.. Yall are abysmal smh

  3. Need to trade one of the max contracts. Maxey is easiest, try and get a haul for him and move on with McCain.

  4. Who put this 🤬 together should be the blame paying millions to injured players we 🗑 🚮 and it's diabolical 😂😭

  5. Tyrese Maxey has a multiple-season long body of work of excellent play and unprecedented growth against the best defenses this league has to offer. he has a rough start (avging. 25 ppg, mind you) to ANOTHER extremely weird season (not the first in his career) where he feels the full weight of expectation on his shoulders after the big contract, has an early-season injury, the other two max players on the team are barely playing and he's got a new wunderkind on his side that he has to learn to play with. are we really gonna point to Jared McCain's 20 games of work and ask TYRESE MAXEY "what have you done for me lately?"

seriously – this season has been difficult enough to suffer without tuning into you guys and watching you get into this shitty hot-take garbage about how he's being a letdown. Tyrese has at the very least a season-long rope of underperforming before i question anything about him. this show is the same show that has praised and glazed Maxey's insane growth in skillset and leadership as a 21st pick and now after a bad shooting stretch and some underwhelming games we're gonna do this?

but certainly, as soon as he breaks out of the funk and puts the team on his back again you're gonna look doe-eyed in the camera and start telling us how improbable it is that we got him at 21.

    Rich, you need help.
